I'm not sure poor soil means anything to the plants as long as you add the right minerals and vitamins.

Walmart has Thrive, an incredibly wonderful product and, as it is more vitamins, you won't overburden it with fertilizer. Which, by the way, is the usual way some people deal with this problem, but, go slow. In hard growing environments, too much fertilizer can be detrimental. Like my tomatoe plants...dang! Too much miracle grow turned seven GREAT tomatoe plants to death. No sauce this Fall.

@MisterBoneman the dirts ph levels need to be around 6.5-7.0 so the soil does have everything to do with it too. everything about growing marijuana is important if you want some good smoke.

My first batch was grown on rocks emersed in water and nutrients. Geez..30 years ago, I reckon. Got help from a Purdue grad while I was at college. We grew some of the smoothest, nicest tasting smoke i had ever had in the USA.
