Bella interpretaciòn del màs grande saxofonista del Jazz. La variedad y cantidad de recursos es fantàstica, asi como la toma de decisiòn al interpretar. Sana envidia me provocas Michael...te extraño. Me conmueves hasta el punto de las làgrimas...
These passages Mike played make clear that God speaks to his children through his Spirit. As he said, "My voice is Spirit"...Mikes voice was the ..Spirit!..A physical expression of his deepest personal feelings through the instrument and talent God gave him. God is LOVE ..God's messenger is MUSIC.
Very close to be a definitive version of the best song ever. Round About Midnight, (Thelonious Monk). Always impossible to do in jazz, but here? Late Michael Brecker.
Absolutely mesmerising! Contrast of loud, soft, fast, slow, shrill, soothing, he could just do it all. Masterly and sorely missed. RIP Michael, you were the best!
And people knock him because "he doesn't have any feel, and can only play technically" I dare any of those cocksuckers to watch this and not be moved.
lol classical arpeggios. jazzers are really superior.this is what happens when the musician is tired of being criticized that his playing ain't damn right, as in classical music discipline
George died, went to heaven, and met up with the big band practice in the sky. There were guys like Freddie Hubbard, John Coltrane, JJ, and Max Roach on the band stand. There was one trumpet player George didn't notice though, so he turned to basie and asked, who's that strange guy over there? "Thats God, he likes to think he is Miles Davis"
Sounds like b6 chords in the beginning. He starts with Ebm(b6)/Bb then Ebmaj(b6)/Bb and then maybe Cmin(maj7) over Baug... I'm not sure. Those types of chords can sound cool when arpeggiated on the sax or keys. Try this: make a scale using C/E/Ab triads (symmetrical maj. 3rds), so C Eb E G Ab B and come up with arpeggio runs. Or just take any two chords (triads work well) and put them together into a new scale. For example: Ebmaj and Bmaj7 = Eb G Bb B Eb(D#) Gb(F#) Bb. Hours of fun! :)
Hi, you should know Manhattan Transfer dedicated a song to Thelonious Monk...
The song is titled "The Night That Monk Returned To Heaven" and this song finishes describing Monk who plays "Ruby, my dear" while God says "Monk...the door is open to my house".
Well, now I guess God has found the right sax player for his celestial Band.
OMG his tone is just shattering. It is the purest and the sweetest tone I've ever heard from a saxophone, and that includes Trane on Giant Steps. Brecker is like Shorter and Trane comboned. I love Wayne and John both, but Brecker took their stuff and refined it and added and became the greates sax player of all time
You know that hating someone, means that you wish somone dead, and the fact that you revere him now makes it sound pretty logical that you hated hem before.
