  • JDRF seems to do a good job and helps a lot of kids with diabetes. Does anyone know what they pay their top staff?

  • @WhistleBlowerNation The CEO makes $531,040, which actually isn't that much considering the large scale of the Foundation and what the equivalent would be for corporation or LLC of that size.

  • You jerks need to stop badmouthing this foundation. Part of the reason is to raise AWARENESS of Type one diabetes! Even though I hate Nick Jonas, I still appreciate that his having the disease can raise AWARENESS. And, its a lot of fun! I went with my best friend last year (she is the one that has diabetes) and its A LOT OF FUN! I know I'm going again this year!!!!!!

    ~Bella

  • Well I'm glad to hear that you walk for the fun and not because you believe they will actually market a cure.... No,,, Really! If you told us that you were sucked into that MT Promise of a cure vortex I would have felt bad for you... L.V.

  • I can't believe these ridiculous comments! JDRF is a charity that wants to find a cure for diabetes. I'm sure they'd LOVE to "go out of business"! Don't be so cynical! Mary Tyler Moore is their international chairman, and has had diabetes for 40 years. I'm sure she would be thrilled to close down JDRF when a cure is found!

  • The JDRF is NOT a Charity. Its a Research Foundation... Im sure Mary Tyler Moore would love to close it down too but she will never see that cure she keeps talking about. The JDRF will use Mary until she dies and then they will replace her with someone like that Jonas kid and do the same for/to him. WAKE UP It is all about the money!

  • I've got a six year old daughter who was diagnosed in february of 2009. I want to think that they are working on a cure, so bad it hurts. And it seems like no matter what, for every good thing and good comment always gets followed by a bunch of negative ones. Cmon, everyone knows that positivity is better than negativity. If your so positive that the jdrf is not following through with what they say, why not let them know. negative energy..put in right place..wil be positive!!!!

  • Letting the JDRF know that we all don't buy into their lies about a cure is a Great IDEA. That's why I post these negitive comments on YouTube. DUH... And quit lieing to your six year old... There will be no cure.... Not EVER...

  • shut up, i have been living with type 1 diabetes for 13 years and they have come a long way, now with the contnious blucose montering it has become easier than ever before to live diabetes.

  • MicheleJ3260, Controlling my diabetes isn't my problem. Knowing that people like you actually believe that someone will cure diabetes bothers me. JDRF can raise Billions and will never see a "marketed cure". They should tell the truth and state that they are researching to sell better treatments, PERIOD! There is no money in Cures and therefore it will not be cured. I am a positive person and I positively believe that. Ungrateful? No. But I am not naive either.

  • well some people dont have there diabetes under control as well as u!! and jdrf isnt the only reaserchers at the university of minnesota they have a big stem cell reaserch center and they are VERY close!!

  • bellanedward4evr101, you obviously want to believe in your fantasy of a cure. You can choose to deal with diabetes as I have and realize that this is as good as it gets, OR you can go on walking and donating your time and money believing in their fairy tale of a cure. One of the JDRF biggest allies is time because people like me who question their motives eventually die. VERY close? Ha ha ha,,, You are closer to death than they are to marketing a cure. Wake up...

  • really!! how do you know that they wont find a cure!!! i jave been to the reaserch center and they have showed me how the stem cells have helped people like me!! how could you ever say something like that! its just like saying there will never be a cure for parkinsons or epilepsy!!! youve got ALOT of nerve saying things like this people really believe this and i do too if you dont you dont have to bring other people down!!

  • I gave you a +1 on this comment. You are 100% correct, JDRF is an organization that exists only because of people who are sick with juvenile diabetes. They have no interest in finding a cure, they obviously turn a blind eye to REAL scientific breakthroughs (like LCT in new zealand) and fund alternative "treatments" which inevitably keep them in business. "JDRF, ensuring you still have diabetes since 1970" because their is no perpetual income in an absolute cure!

  • Im so glad to see there is still intelligent life out there. Now someone please smack Kevin Kline and Mary Tyler Moore for supporting this bogus group that preys on sympathies and sick kids to support their existence. BTW, Kevin Kline states in this video that they have already established that he is an idiot. Now there is truth in advertising.

  • yep, people have to get real, wise up and realize everything is based on income, everything is based on growth, everything is a business first and foremost. Think about it, if they 'cured' juvenile diabetes..then what would the JDRF do? obviously nothing, suddenly they would no longer have a reason to exist if the disease was ultimately curable....c'mon!!....they have no interest in that!! they want new 'treatments'; so they can look good in the media. JDRF is a bunch of parasites!!

  • Dont let someone's beliefs bother you. Stuff like that causes war and other bad things.

  • Kevin Kline is a good actor but he needs to wise up and realize that there will never be a cure for diabetes. Mary Tyler Moore will never see that cure she talks about. Cures aren't good for business.

  • lilviola:Your negative comments are not good for anyone or anything. Maybe if you would put some positive energy into your life, your diabetes would be in better control. Then you wouldn't have to take your anger out on the organization trying to help you, you ungrateful person...

  • You call me ungrateful? Im just trying to make you face the reality that the JDRF is all about treating diabetes and not about curing diabetes. YOU will never see a marketed cure for diabetes. Thats a fact and until a cure is marketed,,,, I AM RIGHT and you are wrong. Anger? Yes, it does anger me to see an organization prey on sympathies to fund a goal that is unrealistic and not what they are shooting for. Walk all you want to cure nothing. I have better things to do.

  • um how bout u STFU cuz they are working on a cure because thers something they can put in your pancreas plus u can a pancreas transplant and if u know so much there walking to lowere there bloodsugar Duh and get excersise =)

  • And if you know so much; why is your spelling and grammar so poor? Maybe you could take a long walk off a short pier... Ok Bye Bye!

  • nice comback its call slang duh. Fuck U before i own your bitch ass!!!

  • Youll own me? You talk bad for a retard.

  • See, that comment shows your age more than anything. Just remove your bad emotions on something that will benefit you, not something that tries to lower hope, cmon lilviola, just try a little bit of niceness....Yeah, thats the ticket.

  • You cant make someone face anything. And what you believe to be the truth does not necessarily constitute it being REALITY. You sound like your everyday cocky person who thinks honestly in their head that what they think is right, and everyone else is wrong. Open your mind instead of your mouth....no seriously....try it

  • And telling me to stop lying to my six year old is not good for your health. Listen to my comment, and I may consider yours, see there, open minded, just try it

  • I can see that it's going to take a few years of hoping for nothing to open your eyes. The JDRF has been telling Mary Tyler Moore that they are close to a cure for 40 years and it hasn't happened yet because that isn't what JDRF is about. That is REALITY. 40 years is a lifetime to many type 1 diabetics.
