thanks for vid. regarding fcpx. I wonder if apple is plans to release modular updates that bring in the missing features (colour grading, audio, multicam, etc, from the previous) each another £30 a pop. Get us used to motion 5 and compressor at such a cheap £ for a add on (though motion could be discrete). and for me £180 is brilliant - but not able to open & convert fcp7 projects unforgivable. if this were case i would support modular pricing and pay for features i use.faults far too great4many

FCPx is widely regarded as a "lesser" version of the previous one. But they greatly reduced the price, so maybe you can say that's the reason. Lion's coming up, they have greatly reduced the price of that too, maybe it's not just a price reduction to please the customers, that's what I'm worried about.

The srolling is really not as bothersome or annoying as you might think. I have the beta, and it's REALLY really easy to get used to, as soon as you realize opposite scrolling, it's... fluent. You just know. But, you might be different on this.

Yes a new iphone would be good and one slightly bigger with a design refresh obviously and then there is the macbook air. it's a choice for me. I have a new 27" quad core i5 and a macbook air would be nice and portable. The retina screen and camera on the iphone are also excellent in my opinion. Nice video!

You can actually do a fresh install of Lion. I have snow leopard, lion and windows running on my iMac, all I did was make a 8gb partition and restore it with the lion Image. Then booted from that partition and installed Lion onto a fresh 100GB partition

I think the iPod Classic will be dropped soon.. but I don't think it will be this year. Apple has hinted that it's only still made for folks (like me) who's iTunes library simply won't fit on an iPod Touch. A 128G iPod Touch would fix that problem. That much flash would be expensive, but I'd pay it to get rid of that damn click-wheel.

The morons giving Final Cut Pro X 1 stars are just that. How the hell can you give it such a bad rating when it hadn't even been out for more than a few hours? They started showing up less than an hour after release. I don't get it. Yes it lacks some things and they have reason to be annoyed, but they seriously can't have made anything remotely approaching an informed decision in such a short space of time. You need at LEAST a month or so with it before getting to that stage.

@TalesOfWar agreed, some came in quite early. But even still, the ave Joe who is buying Final Cut Pro X isn't your average consumer - its a pro's who know what they're doing (or atleast I hope so). I assume they messed about with it before giving it an honest opinion. Sure, some people don't like change and hence gave it a neg review. But most people actually did want to see something fresh but it came at a cost (loss/removal of features). I hope Apple takes care of this.

I think FCPX is great. I only used FCP7 for 2 months and was just learning it. Like you, I found to UI to be 'messy'.

Many professionals who are used to a UI layout are often scared, or don't take too easy to change.

If people think of FCPX as v1 of the the software with a new UI, we will get updates which will possibly please whatever is upsetting long term FCP7 (and previous versions). I have learnt more with it than I did using v7 for 2mths
