  • Who the hell is this kid?

  • It's siliCONE! NOT siliCYN. God DAMNIT that was the most annoying thing EVER!

  • You can thin the silicone, aka RTV (room temp vulcanizing) sealer, with naptha as well. I worked on a missile in the USAF that had a silicone over coat and the markings were thinned RTV and a pigment. You can then store the roller in a container of naptha and roll it out on papers before you reuse it. Xylol and Xylene are too flammable and also evap a lot quicker but they have no oily residues like thinner or naptha can have.

  • wait you live in Akron Ohio

  • Biggest nerd voice in the world . . . . you should be proud. =P

  • hey i just have to ask did anybody see what numer was on the newspaper lol

  • Chris Griffin, is that you?

  • i saw few months ago a similar video, but with better explnation. But i still don't have enough time to doo that ;/

  • I have been looking into making a touch screen. I heard you say the paper was from Akron? I am in Akron shoot me an email if you are too. I would realy like to talk to you about a few things. ThatDamnGuy@aol.com

  • Thanks for the information, cool project.

  • Please answer my question, what is an acrylic? is it a normal glass that u use for windows or something. can I use a normal glass instead of acrylic? then do we need to cover both up and down layer of the acrylic with silicone? if we only cover one layer. which side will the silicone face, will it face the LEDS or facing up?

  • @Laxxongenz Acrylic is a sheet of plastic. It's like glass but cheaper and more durable plus it allows IR light to pass through it. And you don't cover the acrylic with silicone you cover the vellum which is acting like a screen. The vellum then lays on the acrylic. The silicone should be facing the ground so when you touch it the layer of silicone disturbs the IR light and shines it toward the camera. Please ask if you have anymore questions I would love to Help!

  • is that why when i use my ir camera it dosent pass through the glass

  • @brandonhughes7 I Apologize but what is the "That" you are referring to. But I will be happy to help.

  • Now I get it, so basically after u build all the table with the webcam below, it will detect any disturbance of the led ray. what the data projector does is reflecting ur pc screen, and in instant when u touch the table it will be like a touch screen cuz of the projector. without a projector it'll be just like a touch pad. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

  • thanks to michillin212 and his Dad for this video I hope you continue this project with more details if possible

  • @tsidki I will continue and thank you for the suggestions. I just moved it to my room so hopefully I will make more progress!
