no, they're just ahead in technology. Nintendo DS may be a game console, but with it's other features, it can be used as other things too. Just because you may primarily use it as a game system doesn't mean everyone will, suchas these people, who have taken the time to create an orchestrated piece using technology instead of normal instruments.

In Japan, a portable game console, in most cases a Gameboy or Nintendo DS is as common as a household appliance.

Man, I've always wanted to do that with my Daigasso game...
Unfortunately, most of my friends don't have a DS nor have the game, so I never get to do 'band mode'. :<
