@MrHockeyplayer20 A few reasons. Goku's ancestry as a saiyan hadn't been revealed yet. It would have made goku way too overpowered for anyone to be a threat. And plus krillin could have been restored with the dragon balls. On namek goku is older, a hell of a lot stronger, and when krillin dies that time it's right after it looks like piccolo died again, and then he threatens gohan. That time nobody would be revived again, and it's all happening right in front of him.

the only reason gohan discovered his saiyan abilities quicker than goku ever did because of all the training he got from piccolo and because unlike goku,gohan his hidden extra powers.
