Why would anyone attack you with a knife like THAT ??? Hold the knife against your back in a static manner. Nonsense. Most knife attacks such as the prison shank come quickly in an aggressive and ferocious manner, attacking the back or kidney. If you have no eyes on the back of your head, your in a world of hurt.
completely disagree with the take away/disarm aspects. I teach Krav as well, but I also work in an armed profession and am ex military. My experience has taught me that if you try to take the weapon away that fixation can get you dead. The best disarm is the attacker's lack of consciousness. We all practice these disarms from cavaliers and such, but I think this combative application needs to evolve into a more destruction based direction. Gun disarm? yes. Knife? no. bad idea.
Another Bad-Ass one - good job for sharing you guys! I have personally had guns to my head, and been stabbed/cut 3 times - but I am still here (because of training like this). This is no bullshit, I am an ex-Detroit police officer, and I do not know anyone from this school, or anyone in these videos. You guys could actually save someone's life with these videos, so for that - Much Respect! ~ Scott
I have no doubt that someone trained in this could defend himself well and do some damage, but in the fear and adrenaline rush of someone coming up behind you with a knife, I doubt anyone would have time to...look.....redirect....control....etc. But more power to you. Thanks for the vid nevertheless.
@chrisfromoh with the knife right up to your back, if you run, you wun get far enuf before you get backstabbed. by putting the knife right to your back, the perp sacrifices the knife's mobility for the threat factor in the hope that you would be too scared to fight. by turning, you take advantage of the lack of the knife's mobility and if you know what to do, it would help if you wanna disarm or takeout as you have better control of the knife.
@wantonmee23 knife has no mobility ? u must treat the knife as it was alive you have the point an the edge to worry about by putting the knife directly to your back the percentage factor increased that u will get cut vs if you run it decreases.... turning around in that fashion the percentage u will get stabbed or slice are there dont underestimate a knife and who has it you turning into the knife all he has to do is redirect the point if you dont slash urself in the momentum
I'd honestly never use this. In this position, I would just lean forward and run straight forward. Now, if there were a wall in front of me, and I were pinned, I would grab his wrist, and turn my body right simeltaneously, thus putting him in a standing armbar and allowing me to strip the weapon.
I've only heard of this working in action movies.

@jbravo41 To rob you or to abduct you are the most common scenarios with a knife threat like this.

why dont you show the technique with someone trying to defend themselves too, because no thug keeps like a model to show your techniques
KaelDragon 5 months ago
Who holds a knife to your back? No thug is carrying around a knife to scare people; he's carrying it to stab people.

0:22 should there be a worry of the offender stabbing at your face with the knife? :)

Why wouldn't you just run if he has the blade pointed at your back like that? Turning seems to risky and puncture wounds are worse than slash wounds

@YMBrant How you are going to grab his wrist when he has the knife in the middle of your back? What you described was a good way to get stabbed.
