paramaecium was a sick band regardless of christian tone or not. I am one of the people who came up in the church listening to them, living sacrifice, zao, extol, etc. They are the only ones who didn't sell out. SICK!!!

@djentfan84 I know. Undeceived was my favorite album. But TBD was so expressionistic that I can still relate to it perfectly. I own almost all of their albums, and I don't dislike any of them.

@Zardikar94: Paramaecium played death doom. This song is pretty "fast" and catchy - a very unusual Paramaecium track. I remember when they played this song at a local radio station 12 years ago...

@Zardikar94 this song has a doom metal pace but it has a lot of death metal too, specially and obviously at the vocals. Another band that plays doom metal and it is totally different from this (and not christian) is The Gathering, specially the earllier songs.

This isn't really doom like some peeps are saying...this album was more drone/stoner/heavy groove metal. Totally dig Paramaecium...Exhumed of the Earth was my favorite album of theirs. Anybody ever listen to any of the newer bands with ex-Paramaecium members? I remember getting the Within the Ancient Forest video of theirs many years ago...& finding out that my suspicions were right about the vocals...he drinks chocolate milk before growling...that's why it sounds so nasty. gotta love it.

Andrew Tompkins wrote a short book called Within the Ancient Forest, which went along with the album by the same title. It is a short read, but so spiritually uplifting. I read it three or four times in a row. It is fantastic. It's a fantasy setting but the Christian message is hard to miss. It made me think about my relationship with God.

I love Paramaecium, their combining vocals of lovely female gothic passion and the dark and brooding grunts are so very cool. Awesome music and great lyrics, one of the best Christian metal bands I've heard
