Thx OverlordFaust for posting this. IMHO, this is a beautiful piece and it goes very well with a visually vibrant movie. Ack, now I have to dig thru my storage and find my bluray copy to play on my 70. Regards...
Some people here recognize it as a Karajan piece. May be.
Others say it is "The Fall" version (The Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, cond. Deian Pavlov). It certainly is not. Both are about the same tempo, but this video's version is much more legato than the movie's version.
Whatever, both are SO,SO good, make my heart melt...
Why doesn't the video uploader provide the nessesary information about a piece like this???
@jaishreena No, I didn't mean which music piece it was, I knew it was Beethoven's 7th, 2nd mov. I meant which orchestra/conductor is playing in this particular recording.
@UnleashedEsX No, this video here is not a recording of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, cond. by Deian Pavlov.
Bulgarian orchestra recording was on Tarsem's The Fall (the actual movie's) opening titles. This video here IS NOT the same recording as the one of the movie's titles.
So, which recording is this OverlordFaust's video here?
@LaissezFaireAll i am checking the interpretations and you are right... they are different... but maybe its another interpretation... if you listen here... the percussion is different..... anyway "the fall" took 4 years to be made...... and this piece is played in the trailer, the opening and the credits
@UnleashedEsX OK then, we agree that "The Fall" 's recording & this video's recording are definitely two different interpretations. Quite different, actually. So much that it is impossible to both be different recordings by the same orchestra+conductor, even within 4 years.
My guess is this video is some random (but great) recording (guessing a Karajian) from some Beethoven CD in some house shelf, to which the uploader never gave enough attention to write credits/info about.
@LaissezFaireAll thats almost certain.... anyway this video dont give enought information, look the title "The Fall-Symphony no.7 movement 2(FULL VERSION)" i think its a wrong title for the video, and i think its likely that he figured out the title of the song and got it from another cd and pasted it with the pic of the movie =P.... and we are breaking our heads here.... btw, have a nice day
@UnleashedEsX LOL, we are breaking our heads! We sure did, but enough with it. Whatever. :))
Have a nice day too! <3
PS to the uploader: Don't mind the bitching, I'm really thankful to you for uploading this brilliant interpretation of this amazing music, wherever it came from... :)
I love how they used the music throughout the whole movie. Like when they used the Indian, they mixed it with some kind of Indian tune, it's lovely! Wish there were a soundtrack of this masterpiece :(
Did you know that water reflects beautiful shapes when its vibrated by this music. It can be visualized by putting water in a transparant bowl with a light on top. Guess that happens also in our bodies.
THe Kings Speech used this piece as a cheap attempt to make the us "feel" the importance of the scene. The Fall beautiful wove the music, visuals and story together so that both works of art complemented each other beautifully.
cannot stop listening to this over and over just love it....wish i was someone who could sit around embroidering all day and listen to this kind of thing. Im being distracted by the enormity of the music and can't concentrate.
this feels to me that in some way it HAD to be written. i'm not sure what that means, but very few pieces give me that feeling. (also i'm not even a beethoven fanatic.)
@ChuckNorr13579 I found that usage a little odd- considering how well the directors managed to put together all of the lovely period details, I found it a little odd that they used a German piece for the scene when he declared war on Germany.
I am now learning to play this on the violin for strings class :3 I feel overjoyed, but its harder to play than it sounds... especially since i am currently in 8th grade... :)
This is Beethoven's Symphony no 7, movement 2, not a hollywood film song. I think the video title should be corrected to give the credit to Beethoven not only the movie makers who used this music.
@TeddySchantz I don't think it is. Surely it's been appreciated far longer.. and will be, come to that? I've found it a great comfort tonight, terribly upset with so many questions about everything. This is most definitely a comfort.
@roadtorevolucion man i swear i listened to the entire song once, having glanced at your comment, and i didn't have a clue what you were on about. i clicked play again, scrolled back down and then..... OHHHHHHHHH Darwin's monkey! hahahaha, poor Wallace.

@ASacredSpirit Thanks, I do know that this is from Beethoven and not an original piece written for the King's Speech - that is not what I said. @D3m3ntii4 ah okay I understand. I might have to check out the film now. I bet that scene is very moving...from the small parts I saw. Thanks for the information.
*Your English is fine. Just a misunderstanding! Sorry for coming off cold.
The first time I heard this music was for the opening of a Hallmark film ( "The Redwoods" something or another ), and I could never find out who did it. Then again in Mr. Holland's Opus.......Finally after about a year, I ran into a member of an orchestra in a local bar...I was trying to sing/hum the damned thing.......He was able to identify it for me.

one of the most beautiful movies i have ever seen. and i rly rly dont understand how it can be so infamous? and auw the music is also just.... amazing.
reviews of this have stated that the story is a bit thin. they all overlook the point of the film though, a sort of tribute to stunt men throughout the ages, that they do the hardest work and receive the least credit. the story roy tells is just a vehicle to display his genius as an individual and that it is all sadly untapped, but that childhood, what all true art aspires to, is the mind that appreciates roy's dissociative narrative. this is a trap the film sets, and the critics fell for it.
This, like so much of his work, showcases an ability to blend phrases of passion, abandon, restraint, calm, perseverence and aggression through passages of music that are at their greatest elloquence. God's taking good care of him.
Only Beethoven. There's so much power, but it's so well focused, so restrained, almost unbearably so, so you want to just let it all loose at once, and in the first three minutes there's almost a climax where you get to do just that, but even there the tension of the constrained power remains, and pushes forward into the rest of the piece. It's one thing to have power, but to know how to use it is a gift.
@goldencricket You are absolutely correct, I feel symphony 7 is Beethovens finest.. his restraint is what makes this brilliant and heartbreaking.. while I am in awe of his last great work symphony 9. he let loose, as I knew he would and I wanted it to be the way it was.. his last greak work had to be overbearing, and completely all encompassing.. but this one was so sublime throughout the entirety it brings for more emotion for me.
@goldencricket actually at around 6:05 I suppose that is his crescendo.. but was very short only 5 seconds long, still could have been far more powerful, love the restraint

I also think that we want let it loose because we know what's coming. Imagine being a virgin to this song. what an amazing experience

@goldencricket it is like unattainable love; the harder it is to get resolution, the more intense and romantic
