@elvis4123 For about 7 months, I've been looking at this....trying to remake it in Max and FumeFX....pretty rad, my friend. How do you do it? Love this sim!
Very very well done, i like the smoke and fire that retreats from the base but i feel the rocket itself could go slower and the flame could be smaller and leave more smoke behind (that is if ur going for the realism of the rocket)
but for the smoke purely, its very very well done
dude a recomendation i give you is to change the bouyancy so it looks more like a reactor of a rcoket hitting the grond and smashing it againsist the rocket
wow, you are very talented. did you used 2 sources of fire right?
like the first ignition in the rocket
and
another inside the place where the smoke fires out, with 2 overlapping or just one with a regulated timing. i have to do an animation like this and i was trying with only one fire source and i just couldn't do it. is very realistic the timing woW O.O
Great! Beautiful! How much render time did it take? I know what I'm talking about, I'm actually learning to use this program in artistry studies, it rocks! BTW, is this plugin downloadable for free?
I Have bbben playing around with fumeFx 1.1 for some time and tried to make a rocxket launch too, but i failed misserable,, 20 frames and MAX made RAM error... keeps doing it :S
Anyway. Do you have a tutorial for making a rocket launch? or can you please make one youself and post link here? it would be awesome.
I have played around with fumefx for a while and i TRIED to make a rocket lift-off thing like yours, but my pc kept crashing, telling me that MAX had exceeded its RAM limit... :S
Anyhow, can you give me a tutorial for how to achieve that result? or link me to one? :)
no, it isn't. Air for example is a fluid, but because its makeup includes oxygen it doesn't have the effect of smothering fire. Perhaps you're thinking of liquids?
i beleive you are quite misaken.. you use LIQUID to put fire out.... fluid is simply something that takes up the space of its container and has no definate shape........ is kinda ironic tho..
Thanks a lot!
This is only FumeFX simulation. You can add every object of environment in "Obj/Src" Tab to react flame/smoke with it.
I really want to make a tutorial, but I can't enought time now. As soon as I get free time, I'll make a tutorial )

how do you make the flames react with the enviroment? is it all a particle simulation ?

Hands down the best rocket launch yet!!!

Very good, only smoke should be less transparent and disappear slower

well...
you could try downloading a trial, then search for a keygen(or jsut a key) on the internet.
but if you actualy want to use it proffesionally, you'll have to buy a license.

nice, i think the smoke needs to be a bit thicker and disappear slower tho.

very, very nice

would have been better if there was some more smoke coming from the rocket=D

Question: How can you let the smoke flow on the plane so far
yaada 2 years ago
Hey great!
What were your settings for this? Trying to do a rocket start too, but I'm not getting the right look for the smoke.

Very good animation!
PS Smoke is realistic, but it too fast fall down.

WOW! how did you make that? :S
I Tried making a rocket in FumeFX and max 2009, but MAX just kept running out of memory :S
Anyhow. Do you have a tut on how to achieve a result like that? :)

Please help me out here,
Really nice work :)

heey mate.. just wondering any tutorials that would help me out, im trying fumefx aswell. could u tell me what parameters did u use? thnkx

i hate to sound ignorant but,... what is fume fx?
stoops05 3 years ago
it's plugin for 3ds max, where i did it :)
elvis4123 3 years ago
Fume Fx a.k.a. FFX is a 3rd party plugin used to make fluid simulations. From the fluid source you can create fire, explosions etc.
SpecialOperations 3 years ago
isnt that rather ironic? from a fluid simulation which normally puts fire OUT, you MAKE fire... hmm
OGMO11 3 years ago

willis73h1337 3 years ago
To OGMO11, Not all fluids are water.
Some fluids support fire, one very common example is gasoline.

Very Very nice! I think the smoke and flames could be a bit denser.
foist101 3 years ago
Nice work, although the flame could be bit more dense stream.
nVidia6000 4 years ago
ye, seems more like a model rocket this way... only the problem with THAT is that its goign up too slow for a model rocket
