I have one, a 42"m just amazing.....He said 1080p thats coming thru the display but ABC and other HD chanals only transmit 1080i on tv shows....blurays and maybe some games (not seen one yet tho) are/can be in 1080p...

Who cares about the controls on the top of the tv - who the hell is going to use those? 'your connectivity options are nearly unlimited' - er incorrect. Most people will need 3xhdmi ports. One for TV, one for DVD and one for playstation or xbox.

Yeah i agree SHARP is the fuckin best! I got a 32in AQUOS running at 1366x768. But when i hucked up a HDMI cabel to it. It looked just as good as if it was running at 1080P. So I can tell you'll for sure when consider buying a biger 1080P Tv, im going AQUOS all the way.

The Samsung LN-S4695D 46" LCD HDTV is way better than this Sharp. Samsung is one of the best for LCD TV's.

Samsung mostly makes low resolution(except the one you're talking about) TVs that are like 1366x768 but Sharp makes most of their TVs 1920x1080. Even Sony made their TVs with 1366x768 most of the time....I don't see why Sharp is not on the leading position for LCD TVs

well yeah, that's what i initially thought to. But that's just what happens when u get someone of his size standing next to it. In person it is much bigger. There always the 52 inch to consider. I have the newer 92u version of this 46" set. Compared to any other set currently out, this has the best contrast ratio. One negative is the prevelant banding in many of these sets, but fortunately, Sharp customer service will take care of it for u should u get a dud.
