A girl at our local high school who has ds just got prom queen. My sister is friends with her sister. I went to the coronation tonight since my cousins were nominated for king. I cried a bit when they announced she had gotten it.
some of you people out here are HEARTLESS! Some of you have no idea what its even like to have or to know someone with a disability. I think this is very inspirational and i do not think it was a pity vote! I am blessed with a cousin who has a worse condition and everyone treated him with respect along with is brother who passed away a few years ago, both with the same condition. i only hope that for some of you, you see how much joy these kind of people put into ones life!

Minus a small few of you, you should all be ashamed of yourselves! Having personally known both of these beautiful people, and graduated from this school where they actually care about who you are as a person, I can say that I think this is the coolest thing that Fenton High School has ever done. Out of all the Sporting and Fine Arts events, and awards this school cranks out every year, nothing can compare to the compassionate hearts these students had for a fellow classmate.
Not to mention you are all undermining what these students did for him. No one really cares what you think, so if you don't have something nice to say, keep it to yourselves. this makes me so happy. i have a brother with downs and he too was voted homecoming king at his highschool in spokane wa. Never underestimate someone wtih downs, my brother also became the star bat-boy for our local baseball team and was featured in the paper.

just gotta say being a parent of my son who has ds I am absolutely proud of this young man and gives me hope for my little man especially as he is bright as a button. Minus a small few of you, you should all be ashamed of yourselves! Having personally known both of these beautiful people, and graduated from this school where they actually care about who you are as a person, I can say that I think this is the coolest thing that Fenton High School has ever done. Out of all the Sporting and Fine Arts events, and awards this school cranks out every year, nothing can compare to the compassionate hearts these students had for a fellow classmate.

These students made dreams come true that night so maybe you should reevaluate yourselves if you think there is something "funny" about it. It seems like they only voted him as king because he has down syndrome, which some people in his situation may have an issue with. Anyway, he seemed perfectly happy about it, so it was good.
