We need VOTE BY MAIL, enacted in every state. It has worked great in Oregon, for years. Over an 85% turnout rate, every election! Saves a ton of money.

@PlayT0E big bussiness, TRUTH in lending act for example hurt many Appraisers that were doing the job the right way, now they have to go thru a intermediary to gain business and can not solicit accounts dirrectly to appraise a house. And these bidding systems are controlled by the very banks that we bailed out. Businesses will hire when money gets freed up and demand returns. Its an AND association, Why as a biz owner would I risk what I have with decent production levels and minimum staff.

Mr. Plouffe should have advised the administration not to trade away single-payer without a fight, not to phase in health care reform until long after the mid-terms, to prosecute war criminals, to close Gitmo prison, to really end the war in Iraq, and to fire Rahm after he called liberals "effing retards." I worked hard in the heat of the North Carolina summer to help to win the President the nomination and turn this state blue in the G.E.

@doctorkoon Do you really think it would of mattered? Other nations goverments can provide health care because they have the infrastructure to do it. The problem with government is not the programs, its the way it is managed, We are bloated with inefficient bureaucracies, and the thing that would get us is the cost. The cost does not dissipate when the government enters into it. The solutions should of focused on patent reform first and looking at how the FDA operates. As a first step.
@mxrss The most inefficient bureaucracy of all is the system of private insurance. I go to the doctor, they say there's a co-pay. They say no, that's not right, everybody has a copay, so I write a check. Six weeks later, I get a check back from BCBS. This costs real money when you multiply it by the number of users. On the other hand, the VA is run by the government, and used by many members of my family, who report that the horror stories are wring. Private insurance is the main driver of cost.

I think our VETS deserve the best care possible, but sorry there are to many things wrong with ceding control to the goverment. Also costs for Healthcare at Vet hospitals have gone up not down. So its not only privateinsurance. We should just go back to the cash based system. It used to be like a 100$ to get a broken bone set? Doctors used to make house calls, i dont think that Pvt insurance is --
@doctorkoon is the only way, i think we should just pay for the care we recieve up to a certain amount like 2,500 at that point a private insurance company should step in. The problem that care is so expensive is because we are using insurance in the wrong place, its supposed to be for things you cant afford if checkups cost a reasonable amount we should go back to the cash standard, where you paid for services at time of rendering. What we have is akin to paying for insruance for oil changes.
@doctorkoon also what we got from this was pretty much a win for the insurance industry, without any real market reform. Competition would drive costs lower, not i have to give you all these people. I will give you an example of a government run monopoly cable TV. Some control on these companies is necessary but when we grant them these monopolies the consumer ultimately losses. Why cant i buy insurance across state lines, or from a different country?

We need VOTE BY MAIL, enacted in every state. It has worked great in Oregon, for years. Over an 85% turnout rate, every election! Saves a ton of money.
Old people who don't drive, people in wheelchairs, people on shift work or overtime, people who feel intimidated at the polls, those who can't stand in lines for long periods, etc.
Write your legislators and DEMAND they save money and get this vote by mail in every state! It's the #1 issue to fix.

Oregon, has over an 85% turnout rate, every election with vote by mail. Some counties have it and have over a 90% rate.
It works. It improves turnout and it's secure. Write your legislators and DEMAND it. Saves tons of money and let's the handicapped and those on shift work or overtime vote. Eliminates intimidation at the polls and you can vote in the privacy of your home.
This is really the BIGGEST issue to solve.

@PlayT0E big bussiness, TRUTH in lending act for example hurt many Appraisers that were doing the job the right way, now they have to go thru a intermediary to gain business and can not solicit accounts dirrectly to appraise a house. And these bidding systems are controlled by the very banks that we bailed out. Businesses will hire when money gets freed up and demand returns. Its an AND association, Why as a biz owner would I risk what I have with decent production levels and minimum staff.

@PlayT0E unless demand returns and customers or other biz's buy my product. Its a risk that i am taking, but we dont take risks lightly. What we have here is what happened in the Great Depression consumer confidence is still shot and it will take a little while for it to return, the simple fix is to wait, muddliing might cause more jobs and undue stress on the economy. Though i will lament that a few infrastrucuture projects might be good as a whole.

@doctorkoon Do you really think it would of mattered? Other nations goverments can provide health care because they have the infrastructure to do it. The problem with government is not the programs, its the way it is managed, We are bloated with inefficient bureaucracies, and the thing that would get us is the cost. The cost does not dissipate when the government enters into it. The solutions should of focused on patent reform first and looking at how the FDA operates. As a first step.

@mxrss The most inefficient bureaucracy of all is the system of private insurance. I go to the doctor, they say there's a co-pay. They say no, that's not right, everybody has a copay, so I write a check. Six weeks later, I get a check back from BCBS. This costs real money when you multiply it by the number of users. On the other hand, the VA is run by the government, and used by many members of my family, who report that the horror stories are wring. Private insurance is the main driver of cost.

@doctorkoon is the only way, i think we should just pay for the care we recieve up to a certain amount like 2,500 at that point a private insurance company should step in. The problem that care is so expensive is because we are using insurance in the wrong place, its supposed to be for things you cant afford if checkups cost a reasonable amount we should go back to the cash standard, where you paid for services at time of rendering. What we have is akin to paying for insruance for oil changes.

I will give you an example of a government run monopoly cable TV. Some control on these companies is necessary but when we grant them these monopolies the consumer ultimately losses. All of you sign up as many dead as possible, when republicans die they are converted to a democrat. Go through every grave yard, get every name. We did two years ago andd Obama won, we can do it again. The dead have the right to vote.
