Superb. Whatever happened to good music? At least the 'independent charts' of the time meant if we looked we found it, today we look hard but it's really really hard to find anything worth finding :-(
Maybe I've just become too old/complacent/cynical :-) I know there's good stuff out there (now's as good a time for music as any other), but when I hear songs like this I sometimes wish it was then again. A good melody, a jangly guitar, genuine musicians...what more d'ya need.
Me too...it's nice to have this sort of thing preserved on YouTube and in blogs like Willfully Obscure, Jangle Pop Boutique, and The Doledrums (all blogspot)
Wher have these guys been I have their album on casstte a nice mix of Echo and the bunnymen, the Mighty lemondrops and a littl of the housemartins please let me know where you are
@fgyjtdhttdtu yeah at stow college, he also helped to promote my band for a bit but we forget to give him a copy of our demo so it never happened haha
These lads are Paisley Buddies born and bred. Went to school with them so I should know. And by the way, if Neil Neil Orange Peel ever reads this, I want my copy of "Foxheads Stalk This Land" back, ya bam! "I want to borrow it to tape it" you said. That was 20 years ago - did your deck break or something? At least 4 different audio technolgies have risen and fallen since then so you've no excuse!
oh the memories - eating chips in the back of their tour van outside the venue, new cross gate in london. still got the caff single they gave me at the powerhaus & the badge from the 'lets make some plans' 12".
Reply to person who wondered about Go-Betweens rip offs: HUH? This band is from UK and the similarity is purely coincidental. Maybe you've only heard a few bands with that strummy 80s guitar pop sound? Find some Close Lobsters records (there are only 3)and self-educate! This early Lobsters song is not that typical of the band either -- they employed a wall-of-guitar jangle like no one else.
Great video!!!! so happy that we from the far SEA can get to watch this! If not for the internet, I would probably die without having some idea how this guys looked like. though listening them on my dusty vinyl is still superior! (aural than visual!)

Takes me back to the heady days of Peter Easton's 'Beat Patrol'/'Rock on Scotland' on Radio Scotland. Every programme an absolute gem.
