i just have a question, does it have long Wires?, cus in the XFX XXX 650W Powersupply doesnt have Long wires enough it doesnt support full tower, so i dont want to make a Mistake
Again Does this supply Support Long wires, i dont want short cus im buying a full tower..
mine didnt come with the 4 pin connector that goes at the top of the motherboard!! I tried just hooking up the graphics card but no image and I build pcs???
I have the Power Supply and I just realized that the fan is NOT running. There is a PWR Fan port on the motherboard thats got 3 pins. I don't see any 3 pin connector on this power supply. What should I do?
@jjgamepro16 Borrowing this quote from a review on the TX650 model: "You have to use a paperclip, jumping the green wire with any black wire, to make the fan on the psu power up. look it up on you tube, or go to corsair's website for further instructions."
exactly, here the 570 costs around 40 eur more, but from the reviews i have seen you get the same performance. with an advanced cooling from HAWK, it seems like a good deal for me. dual sli 560 have a pricetag around 580 but to be honest, im not spending so much money for my pc. the whole thing cost me around 740 eur and it should be enough for at least 3 years of gaming.
@a1rs0ftman ohh i got it. Have you checked Gainward 1756? Because that's a great and cheap gtx 570, but if it's really more expensive, you can go with gtx 560hawk. It"s a great card. I trully understand that you don't want to spend to much money. Theres a lots of better things what you can do than playing computer.
@northmahri exactly, hehe :) by the way, do you prefer modular cabling when talking about PSUs? i heard some pros and cons, dont really understand the cons though.
Well the modular PSUs are better if you want to have just the needed cables in your case. For example, if your case hasn't got cable management, then it's a pretty good deal. It's depends on the fans position and on the airflow. BUT you have to read a lot's of reviews and then choose one, because there are a tons of shit modular PSUs, and that's why the bias. And you have to be careful when installing a modular PSU. It's not for beginners. I bought not modPSU, cos i have cable management.
@FFF693 yep man of course. the two GTX 550 TI+ consume 200-250W, so yep. I'm just sayin that, you should go with 500W or something in that range, if you won't uprage much in the future.
@northmahri okey, and what about an SLI 560Ti Hawk? i saw some nubmers and it seems like they eat too much.. i still cannot find the PSU for my pc, im looking at around 600W, something like the OCZ stealthxstream or modxstream, they seem fine for around 65 euros
@a1rs0ftman well, 650W is just fine, but i really recommend you to go with 750W or even 850W. Because the two video cards can consume 600W!!! And that's just the video cards. BUT REMEMBER this is full load(2x100%), and i think they won't run in full load, just if you run furmark....Okey if you accept my advice, i would pick up in your case an gtx 580, same price almost, and the common rule is 1card>2cards. because man with sli and crossfire you can be really easily fucked up. trust me.
@northmahri actually, the 580 is twice the price of 560ti hawk here in my country so its kind of not a good deal.. finally i decided to go for this psu, and maybe, only maybe, in future when i will plan to go for another 560 ill go for something like the corsair tx750m, cause i like modular cabling.
@a1rs0ftman i compared the two 560ti hawk price with the gtx 580. In that case their prices are the same. Okey, just checked: in my country i can buy gtx 570 for gtx 560ti hawk price PLUS 30dollars. You should think about this.
@JibJabJabs This power supply would be more then sufficient for that build. Only reason you would want anything higher is if you are running a crossfire or SLI system. I'm running a Cooler Master 650w, on about the same system actually, just I have only 8Gigs of ram.
Also, the sticker on the side of the PSU wasn't stuck on properly, that really annoyed me, I just wanted to reach out through my screen and even it out, damnit!
@Stricker It's what supplies an equal current through. You'll find with Brands like Acer will have 4x12v rails. There's nothing extremely wrong with more than 1 or 2, but it has to evenly share between extra rails.
i want to build i new computer and im having ALOT of trouble with the power supply. Im not sure if the power supply is able to handle this. Here are the parts i plan to purchase:
1155pin AsRock P67-Pro3
Intel Core i5-2500
Seagate SATA3 1TB
DDR3 4GB Kit G.Skill Ripjaws 1600
MSI GTX560Ti 1GB
and of course
Corsair TX650W
Also do you guys reckon if i should install another fan instead of the sole stock cpu fan?
@AznJoltz if i were you i wouldnt get the second gen cpus just yet. considering how they were retracted by intel not too long ago and i dont think they have a "proper" fix yet. also if you google power supply calculator it can figure it out for you :)
Hey, i am going to have a CoolerMaster Storm Scout Case and im getting this psu do the psu overheat if i put the fan downwards ? Hope someone reply's :)
@BlaZee181 Please reply, I'm gonna create a build using a AMD Phenom II X6 1090t BE and Sapphire Xtreme HD 5850. I was gonna use this PSU until you said, "You don't need 650w for single GPU," then what PSU should I get?
@misthafly I dont kow what brands you have in your country. I would say chieftec ctg 550 80p. But you can buy the tx650 as well, you could put another 5850 in your system later on. Iam just saying, you dont necesssrily need 650w for single gpu, but the tx650 is a great price/value psu.

Shud I not have bundled them together to one side or what any advice will be much apreciated. Also my computer wont turn on now, is there some sort of fuse within the power supply?
i hate to be this person but can you please help me? i have a AMD athlon II x2 250 ( not oc) and 4 gb of drr2 with a 512mb 9500gt video card, what wattage should my power supply be? i would be thankful for your advice =D
@MissMan666 thanks for the tip, after looking at more reviews and comments it seems the majority of the internet agrees with you. I think i am going to order the tx 650 now :)
Bought one of these over a month ago, it's a lovely unit but I only recommend grabbing it when Corsair is going rebate heavy as I got mine for 89 bucks locally including instant and mir. I think NCIX had it for 10 bucks less even. Otherwise it's been rock solid stable and by far the most overlooked component to a PC. Pretty silent also. Great warranty to top it off and Corsair supposedly has one of the best customer support for problems also although I hope to never experience it.
@Technofan23 5770s don't use a 6 pin and an 8 pin each which is what u said in your first comment. If you were goina use an 6 pin + 8 pin GFX card (like a GTX 285) then i'm not sure a 500 watt PSU would be sufficient
This is the best psu ever! I bought one 2 months ago and it rocks!! It rocks because its veryyyy quiet! The reason why i reccommend this is because its the most quiet and it has two 8 pin that can be used as 6pin connecters for pci express cards! And i replaced with the most noisest mastercooler psu's!~
I have this exact psu for my build. Awesome, running it with AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU, 4 gigs of ram, and ATI Radeon 5770. Really high quality, only problem is there is way more cord than needed, I had trouble fitting it all in.
I also want to mention that I like how Linus talks about aesthetics of computers as being important, because I feel the same way. When you can see all the parts in a window case, I think they should look good together. That whole concept influenced my lighting scheme.
Is this good now?

Bought one of these over a month ago, it's a lovely unit but I only recommend grabbing it when Corsair is going rebate heavy as I got mine for 89 bucks locally including instant and mir. I think NCIX had it for 10 bucks less even. Otherwise it's been rock solid stable and by far the most overlooked component to a PC. Pretty silent also. Great warranty to top it off and Corsair supposedly has one of the best customer support for problems also although I hope to never experience it.

I have this PSU. Powering a Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.7GHz | XFX HD 5870 | 4GB Mushkin 1066MHz | 2x 320GB RAID 0 | X-Fi Titanbium Fatal1ty
It could power another 5870 if I wanted to.

the power supply is fuckin shit
even my 500 WATT PSU could handle 2 graphics cards with 1X8pin and 1X6pin per card ^^
Technofan23 1 year ago
@Technofan23 just because it has the connectors doesn't mean it can handle two graphics cards. What PSU do you have?
AgentHydra 1 year ago
@AgentHydra bequiet 500 Watt straight power
for example 2x5770 ( 108 Watts per card = 216 ) + max. 140 Watt CPU and Board = around 380 Watts @ all
Technofan23 1 year ago
@Technofan23 5770s don't use a 6 pin and an 8 pin each which is what u said in your first comment. If you were goina use an 6 pin + 8 pin GFX card (like a GTX 285) then i'm not sure a 500 watt PSU would be sufficient
AgentHydra 1 year ago
@AgentHydra sry i think i had described it false
for graphics cards i have
an 8 pin, 8 pin, 6 pin and 6 pin
so my psu could handle two cards with 6 pin per card ;)
Technofan23 1 year ago
@Technofan23 then it'll dip then your computer is fried! That PSU will kill your generic fails.

@CooperScoots yes.
Eagle1337 1 year ago
@CooperScoots 5850 needs ~150W *2 = 300W + CPU/Motherboard = 400-500W , so ofc you can
guitarfreakfalko 1 year ago
@CooperScoots yeah, this is what i'm running right now

2 5850's
what kind of power supply should i get
gumberly 1 year ago
@gumberly well what cpu are u running?
but you should be fine with a 650w because ive got 2 5770s on a antec 650w
and they only use about 6 watts less then a 5870
so go with this power supply or a 750-850 for future upgrades
thespartenkid 1 year ago
the way to go is corsair :P
650 = sli
850 = tri sli
and this for an awesome price
sKyyyFir3 1 year ago
@sKyyyFir3 there is cheaper psus that perform just as good as the corsair psus.
Eagle1337 1 year ago
@Eagle1337 And many of them are cheap garbage with questionable quality. You get what you pay for.
AreleEvE 1 year ago
@AreleEvE not always, there are some good cheap power supplies out there, corsair tends to be in the overpriced category.
