  • Arts school confidential is Fkin Hilarious as an ex art school student it's pretty accurate the amount of crazy bitches, stupid critiques, and outworldly bizarre situations I'd find myself in. i lived in a apt down the street from an insane asylum for 2b/1b $250 a month rent that i split with another student we survived on all you can eat $3 happy hours. most of the time i woke up in war paint after falling asleep on my paints trying to finish a piece. needless to say I miss the good old days

  • that was the worst editing ever

  • At 8:39 is that a penis on the left side of the piece?

  • nasty azz b******

  • au contraire, DiegoRmolano, I am not homosexual. You, however, are illiterate for not reading the youtube rules and knowing that you can't put videos with nudity up unless they're marked 18+. I'm surpirsed this hasn't been removed yet... (it is very brief...)

  • 5:40, the student movie project,...fucking hilarious

  • nudity at 0:32. flagged, bitches!

  • faggot,

  • where is the best art school in the world?? can someone tell me plzzzzz

  • that's a really stupid question. do you want to get into? illustration? graphic design? look into it. don't rely on others. Ringling is supposedly one of THE best, but for the most part, it all depends on how much you take out of it and practice. the school doesnt make the artist, the person does.

  • every art schools are like that all around the world, and not only art schools, but the market, some artists, all ths microsociety. its just the way it goes, any social environment is a bit fake.

but some true artist are still fightin within or wthout the market.

  • No such thing as "true" or "real" anymore

Every once in a while you may find an artist who truly believes in what they produce, but there's no guarantee they'll be any good.

Most of them are knowledge without meaningful application or random application without knowledge.

  • lmao, art schools? yea life is this way, everybody is a damn zombie now following not even a leader but bullsh** they believe is right or is easy. I feel like this guy everyday, thats why i love this movie cuz ppl are so fu**ing dum these days, common sense is completely a thing of the past, its lost. I agree with everything you said

  • This truly captures what it's like to be in art school!!! Brings back memories of F.I.T!!! lol

  • So sad, but so true. The poor loser in the beginning drawing a portrait of that girl- and probably thinking he's scoring points for being the sensitive, artistic type- when her asshole boyfriend picks her up (probably for a nice fuck) while he sits there wondering what happened.

  • OMG this shit is exactly like PRATT

  • really?! D: I want to go their quite badly

  • Come, but be prepared! lol

  • stop arguing everyone. just enjoy the boobs :)

  • i've got my second art college interview tomorrow . . .

  • Quote from the ASC comic:

"If you must go to art school for God's sake make the most of it ... Seldom if ever again in life will you be afforded the chance to scrutinize such an array of losers in an environment that actually encourages their most pretentious inclinations!"

  • The main character looks like me, he even has the same looking glasses! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • art school is a great big collection of pretentious assholes and lousy artists that have huge egos, and small minds

  • You're confusing the students with the grads my friend.

  • Random scribbles on a paper is never "art", or "good", It is JUST random scribbles on the paper!! Art students who can't even draw or compliments on abstract art STFU!!!!

  • ignorant.

  • I just appreciate something that takes SKILLs to do. I love works by the likes of Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, valaquez, john singer sargent

  • technique stifles creativity. Why would anyone want to look at overly idealized work from 500 years ago. More importantly, no one goes into a Multivariable Calculus class and proclaims that it isn't math just because you don't understand it...you were speaking out of ignorance and that is why I called you out. And secondly, you can't compare art from the renaissance to modern art so broadly. Take an art history course and listen you might learn something.

  • Do you realize how hypocritical you sound?

First of all, technique is the backbone of art. Just because a modern artist doesn't use a technique shared by past artists does not mean he hasn't created his OWN technique. Furthermore, the technique of later days was new when it was created. We are constantly evolving on old ways, but just like that, we'd be nowhere without it. Art Nouveau, Dadaism, graffiti art for goodness sakes, wouldn't exist without Da Vinci, Renoir, or the fucking cavemen.

  • I am well aware of the contributions of the masters, i just dont think that everyone should continually reference them as the only art. And all I am saying is that sometimes focusing on the "PROPER" techniques isn't the best thing because it can hinder creativity.

  • just because you aint getting rich with ur shit, dont mean you gotta hate

  • art is in the eyes of the viewer... art can be absolutely EVERYTHING, so i think you're wrong.

  • Sorry I disagree that art can be everything. If art can be everything, then art has no meaning at all.

  • what i meant was that art is not only the pictures on the wall made by famous artists, it can also be the drawings of a kindergarten girl.

  • then art isn't for you,

  • If art can be everything, then what is my work doing sitting in my basement, while another person's work sells for millions.

Clearly people make a distinction, and discriminate about what is art and what is not.

  • Just about anything can be art. However, what is "good" art is dependent upon a subjective opinion. Hell, Duchamp's "Fountain," the guy took a urinal and displayed it. Would I see a urinal as a piece of art? Probably not. But, apparently someone did.

  • Yea like warhol and thoes damn soup cans. I mean shit if i could stack a bunch of crazy shit and sell it I would but it seems he was the first to do that so it took off now its worn out

  • @Liago4 You could say that about a lot of things though. If Catcher In the Rye was written today it would seem tired and old because so much since has been influenced by it.

  • you'r taking it out of the context, it was a portrait of the bourgeois, totally dada, or punk if you want, its like saying fuck you, to the hypocrisy of the rich society who were dictating what is art and morality and what isn't, while making war in the same time.

  • I think you'll see that most people appreciates art that demonstrate craftsmanship and skill instead of just shock value like duchamp's fountain.

For example, people admire the craftmanship of a 18th century drawing or a painting by da vinci because they know it's difficulty to produce something as lifelike and real.

  • i pissed a little watching this.

  • "Audrey I know you don't care about me. BUt maybe someday you'll- OOF! D8"

    Made me laugh so hard

  • good movie

  • Its hilarious if you can relate to it. This clip really missed out on some of the best scenes. Funny how crapy artists take their art so seriously sometimes.

  • @nickfoelly "don't you have anything original to say." lol

  • 8:20 scared the hell out of me.

  • haha bs... nude models aren't that hot...nope ther not even under 40...

  • The original comic stated this, using for examples a hairy hippie chick and her "freakish, poodle-haired boyfriend".

  • I don't know, my friend is in art school and the women he draws look hot. Of course, maybe he's just a lousy artist.

  • I've drawn hot nude models, and I've drawn unattractive ones. The unattractive ones are more common, though.

  • I hate art schools. You shouldn't have to go to an art school to become an artist! Art is the only good part about humans, but all my friends (exept one) says that art is gay, veggies are gay - (i hate to eat meat) everything i love is "gay"! What i define of what they say gay; is love. (no i don't mean the "sexual" way xD)

    Art ftw xD

  • Ah, I really want to watch this now! Thanks for posting it (:

  • I heard the movie was lame, but that was fairly hilarious, thanks. XD

  • Art school is very tough, and the movie is pretty accurate in some aspects. I have to see this.

  • Love it, it's hilarious. Fortunately, where I am is completely different.

  • modern artist cant draw shit!!!!!! i went to a modern art school in switzerland what a giant loosers!!! good drawing is the basic of any good art!!! without grammar you cant write, get it! this ego trip about modern art talking just about bullshit in class exactly like in this movie!!!!

  • As you said, without grammar, you can't write. And yea, exclamation marks are the 'basic for any exclamation'. LEarn what academic means, and come back.

  • wow, you so didn't get the movie...

  • i agree, sometimes people just find fucked up wierd stuff an amazing artwork, i dont understand how for example paint splattered all over the canvas is a good artwork....

  • yeah its a really hard to grasp concept with art. it is much like the classic trash to treasure phrase.

"One mans trash is another mans treasure."

It's more less when you look at art, you look at it for what it is and make something into it not make something into it and just accept what it is.

and art school is more mentally straining then anything it makes you insane but is all worth it. Because aren't the insane ones the only true sane ones?

  • I agree. People should be able to appreciate art without critic's help. Modern art needs art critics to put it in the pedestal of appreciation. You don't need anyone to tell you how amazing the Sistine chapel is.

  • nah...i just like how interesting it is...I dont listen to art critics because for the most part they actually don't get it, they just pretend to.

  • You obviously didn't get the movie... come back in twenty years... that is, if you're not dead by then...

  • @puppeteye Rather funny you mention using grammar in your response but can't use it yourself. Idiot.

  • where I can watch the film online?

  • It's a joke, you fool.

  • no shit man, i was just fukin a round

  • My bad

  • Painful to watch. It seems the successful artists are thugs who can't draw or psychos. I would also like to beat them to death.

  • Malcovich reminds me of an English teacher I had - he told us the meaning of life was that we "ought to be dead" but not to kill ourselves until our last year at uni so he wouldn't get the blame!

  • You guys are missing the point. The whole idea of the movie is that art school is bullshit, and the most you're going to get out of it is a handful of aquaintences who aren't quite as pretentious and moronic as the rest of the students. The asshole artist speaker says it at the beginning: you can't learn art in school. You're either an artist or you're not.

  • Why is shelly cole not in more movies. shes so great

  • Does anyone know where I can watch the whole movie online?

  • guys wish all the nude models looked like that...yea rught..say helo to men in thier 40's...haha

  • and women in their 60's

  • Ethan Suplee is an fucking awesome actor!!!

  • He is like a fat Dane Cook

  • ART SCHOOL ROCKS

  • well this school dosen't seem that bad, in mine the art teacher just bends over, takes a look, and in her strong bulgarian accent says "this is crap"

  • "i so fuck'n jazzed!!!"

  • Wow, that is lame. Although they definitely aren't THAT mean in Art School, I can imagine the worse the school (Like mine, but it's just a liberal art school with an art program, it's complete and utter crap) the bigger piece of crap it is...

  • Actually I've had teachers who were meaner.. they'd go up the students bench and tell them their work is the shits.

  • Wow, really? Where did you go? That really sucks!

  • i went to film school. one fo the mandtory courses we had to take was life drawing and art theory.. the teacher was like john malcovich's character.. he was always snide and cocky.. but the great thing about his critique, even though he was very brutal, was that he would show you how you could improve your work.. and somehow you felt better about yourself afterwards.

  • In my schools they were pretty brutal too. But because the schools I attended were smaller and they accepted ANYONE (they needed money badly), it was always to the students who weren't as skilled. Do you have any stuff online though? I would LOVE to see your work!

  • I like the nude part

  • i love that beatnik girl

  • very nice clip dude, why not upload the whole movie? seems like a very bitchin' tale about a stereotyped wannabe artist guy
