For me as an agnostic person I hope that Mike Huckabee will NOT be our next President or even our Vice President. His positions on church and state scare me as a nonchristian.

In the quote I posted by Mr. Huckabee when he was in South Carolina, he is talking about the Confederate flag that was raised not for the civil war, but in protest of the Civil Rights movement in 1962 in that state. Huckabee granted 1,033 pardons and commutations in his 10 1/2 years as governor of Arkansas. Bill Clinton, Frank White and Tucker granted 507 clemencies in the 17 1/2 years they served as governor.

For me as an agnostic person I hope that Mike Huckabee will NOT be our next President or even our Vice President. His positions on church and state scare me as a nonchristian.

Why? He has never stated that he wants everyone to worship one God by law. Mike Huckabee supports every persons individual rights. Mike Huckabee supports Americans rights to be free. As long as you live life without committing violence toward others you can do pretty much what you want. At least that is what our country was founded on. Do a little more research before you finalize your opinion. Don't let anyone make up your mind for you.

I'm not telling anyone how to live but Huckabee needs to be called out for his statements that have an underlying racism to them. And that he says when it comes to evolution, he admits that he "doesn't know" whether our species and others have a common ancestry. Well I think he should read up on it a bit because it is a crucial argument going on in the schools in this country. But McCain or Romney seem to be the only two left in the race.

In the quote I posted by Mr. Huckabee when he was in South Carolina, he is talking about the Confederate flag that was raised not for the civil war, but in protest of the Civil Rights movement in 1962 in that state. It was directly pointed at black Americans that were trying to gain the rights they deserved along with every other citizen. He may not have said it with that intent, but perhaps he should look into the history of things before he opens his mouth. But I do agree with u about Ron Paul

Bigot? I am no bigot, Mr. Huckabee can believe in any faith that he wishes to believe in, I have no problem with that. But when he says that the Constitution needs to be "put in God's standards", thats when I have problems. Mixing god, and a specific one, and government is explicitly not what our founding fathers wanted for this country. They saw how awful this mix was for many of the other countries of the world, but they did not wish to limit it either. They were right in both cases.

How in the world can anyone say Huckabee is a democrat running Republican. How dumb can one be. With someone like Huckabee in there, there is no more money for people like Coulter and Limbaugh. They only want the rich to remain rich and the poor poor and to keep the country against itself. As long as that is in effect, then then will be making the big bucks.
Huckabee is my choice for 08, and a very wise choice for anyone with a brain.

Before I listened to Mike Huckabee speak, I was considering voting democrat, just because all the republicans seemed the same. After I heard him speak, and saw the sincerity in his eyes and motions, I knew I could vote with the party I associate myself with.

Huckabee granted 1,033 pardons and commutations in his 10 1/2 years as governor of Arkansas. Bill Clinton, Frank White and Tucker granted 507 clemencies in the 17 1/2 years they served as governor.
During his years as governor, Huckabee granted clemency an average of about once every four days.

The litmus test has nothing to do with religion but whether they can and will fulfill their sworn oath of office. Dr. Paul is a better choice to be the CEO of our country in these critical times. If this was just a matter of Huckabee changing his position on illegal immigration in the wake of 9/11, I would have no problem. But that is really not the case here. If it was, he would have just come out and said concerning his earlier record/position(s), "I was wrong".
Also, very politician-like, he has recently been parsing his previous comments and positions on the issue like crazy. And when the polls begin to show how badly this will hurt him - he comes out with a new "get tough" plan?

In a piece for the Huffington Post, journalist Murray Waas says that Huckabee was "provided letters from several women who had been sexually assaulted by DuMond and who indeed predicted that he would rape again -- and perhaps murder -- if released."
Despite those letters, Huckabee, as governor, pressed for DuMond's release.

Mike Huckabee is a lying weasel. Sure, he'd have to be some measure of a lying weasel to make it in presidential politics, but Huckabee lies with an artfulness that would make Dick Nixon envious, and probably has Bill Clinton convinced that it comes from something in Hope, Ark.'s water. He's so damn good at it.

How else could one explain the popularity of bought and paid for candidates like Clinton & Giuliani? What kind of world do we live in when calculating warmonger candidates are the front runners by the controlled media and a principled anti-war candidate like Dr. Ron Paul is considered "fringe"? Huckabee is a liar when it comes to taxes. He switched from supporting the FLAT TAX to supposedly supporting the FAIR TAX over the last year. Why the change (VOTES)? He also RAISED taxes when he was Governor of Arkansas.
