At least we got to see the Floyd reunite once before Rick passed on. Always wished the Beatles could have as well but here the floyd got together and sound as amazing as only they can when they are all together.
The only bad thing about watching PF videos is all the negativity about Waters and Gilmour that people still write instead of enjoying these moments of seeing all 4 of them together, and for a good cause.
There are so many stories , MaximusDowns, only the 4 of them know, but I was always a Floyd fan and still don't know the whole thing. But I think the 2 of them were equally at fault somehow, however, I still love them as much now as I did back in the day, and what days they were. Great music !!
Don't mean to further the discussion, but it seems to me like Waters was taking over ALL the songwriting for the band, and on top of that wanted to kick Rick out. Can't really blame Dave for hating him, although I'm sure Dave has been overly bitter about it over the years.
Yeah thats true. but I'm sure in the back of all their hearts the Floyd means alot to them and Roger did kind of get egotistical about Rick. Roger knows HE is Pink Floyd but the others are so much more a part then he could realize at the time. RIP Richard Wright. I'm sure Roger regrets his treatment of the guys now. But still it was Dave that could not let of the bitterness. I don't blame him but at least we have this performance
@sigma407 - You are very right about Waters' song writing ability. He did write some wonderfully strange and beautiful songs. But he was so mean to the rest of the band, esp Rick Wright, who in the end was so pleased to be a part of David's band when he put out On An Island and did his tour. I'm glad he did since he died so young. Waters has a prob w/his dad dying in the wat and never seeing him.
Spot on! Indeed they were ... it's funny your comment gets thumbs down when you are just stating the truth.
Pink Floyd is and forever will be a monument in the music world. Noone can recreate Wright's fingers on the ivories, Mason's drumming, Water's songwriting and Gilmour's heart and soul guitar solos ... heck even Barret's antics :P
sadly I dont know that much about pink floyd, but i do know that they have the greatest music in the world and i wish i was able to see one of they'r concert's when rick was still allive
they still sound great. I mean come on, their older but the music they performed is already in all of our minds anyways; we can tap into it any time. I celebrate Pink Floyd's entire catalog and am thankful they stayed together with Gilmour. DG rules, admit it.
like it says no more excuses ppl blame gilmore for the fued or what ever but remember it was waters the walked out on the band and went solo and david kept the band alive for another 10yrsand has had a number 1 album and cd in the uk and while i've been a bigger roger waters fan then david its evident that david is pink floyd i mean without david's guitar c numb dont sound quite right but cant realli blame david for doin what roger orginaly did to him and thats leavin the other 1 high and dry
but the fans want this tour to happen so i think in the end we will have this tour even if its not a full blow tour i think we'll get 6months in the usa and 6months in the uk but only in certain citys and the dates will be spread out
MTV really dropped the ball on the coverage of Live 8. Cutting to commercial during the solo in "Comfortably Numb" and missing out on seeing the band posing for pics afterwards.
da fuck r u talkin about...he's da mastermind behind pink floyd..without him we wouldnt have "dark side of da moon", "wish you were here" "animals" "the wall" etc...if u cant see dat then ur just crazy man
I wonder how many people at that show took for granted the fact they were witnessing a moment in history? How many of those people in the audience didn't really understand that they were just watching LEGENDS? (little children, babies and young teens don't count)
I hope they do realize, yes. I'm 16 years old and god I wish I was there. They performed together for the first time in 24 years or so, which is incredible.
