On opening day, I've seen this movie! Knowing ahead of time that it was only a rehearsal, to be honest I wasn't sure what I was getting into. But it BLEW me away! The way it was put together! Michael STILL had the moves, AND he KNEW what he wanted! It showed that everything he does on stage is HIS vision! I felt a friendly presence when I saw the movie!

There were a lot of people who went to it out here in CA. On the news they were talking to some of them, and they had people wearing one glove and wearing MJ hats and stuff. He was definitely a performer and I like the flow of his music they rhythm that is.

"Exude" I had to look it up and I'm still not sure what it means. I'm not a big fan, but I saw Michael Jackson live at Tokyo Dome in mid 90's and to this day it's still the best concert performance I've ever seen.

I thought it was a fascinating film too. It is interesting to see the behind the scenes view and learn how such a big show comes together. I loved watching MJ collaborating with the musicians to get just the sound he wanted. It looks to me like he still had the voice and the moves and the creative passion and energy. It's hard to imagine this was a person who had to be anesthetized every night to sleep.
I can't believe the comments, 3:44 about the Michael Jackson movie and 3 seconds about Madonna. You get as many comments about her. Get a life people!!

Same here, there were 9 people in the theater, 4 of which were in my party. I have a friend that works in the theater and she said it may actually end up hurting their business to have 7 showings a day with very few people there to watch.

I remember as an 11 year old the Jacksons appearing in Life Magazine - on the cover - and the photograph of the Jackson family posing in front of the swimming pool w/ the minibike and all. They were a pretty big deal back in the day. I remember their house sort of looked like the Brady Bunch house.

I am so relieved that his performances in this film showed his magic and energy, and made my man T. a fan :)
oh, and readers: T.Roth will always be one of the greatest entertainers I have ever seen in my life...if only there were all the techno-toys back when APF ruled...we would have a This Is Zip film (xo always David)

my local cinema was sold out...but only 3 quarters of the cinema actually was full...weird...either sony has paid for false ticket publicity or lots of people bought tickets but couldn't be stuffed watching it.....I don't know Illuminati perhaps

There were a lot of people who went to it out here in CA. On the news they were talking to some of them, and they had people wearing one glove and wearing MJ hats and stuff. He was definitely a performer and I like the flow of his music they rhythm that is.

Joe Jackson makes himself looks so stupid every time he opens his mouth. Maybe he pushed the boys to perform but the talent belongs to them. Joe just saw Michael as a cash cow. Now that Joe is cut out of the estate, he can only get his money from tabloid journalism by saying off the wall remarks. I hope the movie comes to DVD. I was thinking like you with the Disney "limited editions" that are still so readily available for purchase now. It is all marketing hype.

oh yes I will be seen it on November 5th...I am so excited!!!!I wanted to go on November 7th because my birthday is in that day, but they told me it was SOLD OUT.. and that is down here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana...anyway I hope there would not be alot of people..i will still go early that day...

"Exude" I had to look it up and I'm still not sure what it means. I'm not a big fan, but I saw Michael Jackson live at Tokyo Dome in mid 90's and to this day it's still the best concert performance I've ever seen.
The movie started here in Japan today, so I suppose I'll check it out...Only got two weeks to see it... Thanks for the review Zipster!

I thought it was a fascinating film too. It is interesting to see the behind the scenes view and learn how such a big show comes together. I loved watching MJ collaborating with the musicians to get just the sound he wanted. It looks to me like he still had the voice and the moves and the creative passion and energy. It's hard to imagine this was a person who had to be anesthetized every night to sleep.

Wow how could u say such a thing about Madonna.I seen her truth or dare concert in detroit and thats one lady who knows how to put on an amazing show.Even today she still looks good and performs like she did back then.I sure hope nothing happens to her her talents are amazing.And to wish she would die so that maybe you could finally see her talents and become a fan are just some very cruel things to say about an awesome singer,dancer,and performer.I agree that is very bitter of you,Shame on you.

Where did you see it where there were so few people? In Paris people showed up at dawn, or spent the night and the whole day to get tickets. Jammed. I got a freebie and went out of curiosity. I mean, I stopped listening to new music when Dylan discovered Jesus... But you're right. He's phenomenal, and he danced the feet off his dance chorus. They shoulda shot up Joe instead. (Or Madonna)

Same here, there were 9 people in the theater, 4 of which were in my party. I have a friend that works in the theater and she said it may actually end up hurting their business to have 7 showings a day with very few people there to watch.

michael jackson was a mentally ill, self concious, arkward all round weird person. the was skinny, a burn victim and had a skin disease, his parents used him for money for his only talent of singing in an effeminant voice whists making weird noises and moving around quickly, he aso was carless with his money the only good thing he did in his life was help kids even though his state of mind was similar to a childs.

Haha! It's funny that you mentioned Madonna cause according to Michael from those tapes he did w/ Rabbi Boteach Schmuley, she's a total bitch. He told a story of how they were out at a restaurant together on a date & some kid wanted an autograph from both of them, & she goes off on the kid yelling at him to go away & he started yelling at her & told her, don't you ever talk to children like that!

I agree that he didn't look like he was out of shape or that he looked like he was sick or suicidal &he definately looked better than he did in 2005 during the trial which is why it's so sad he's gone now. :'( It's also sad that his family feels that they have the right to profit from his death too after all the BS they put him through, especially his dad. IDK if you heard the tapes, but I was sickened by the extent of the abuse his dad did to him of how he'd oil him down to beat him w/ a cord.

I remember as an 11 year old the Jacksons appearing in Life Magazine - on the cover - and the photograph of the Jackson family posing in front of the swimming pool w/ the minibike and all. They were a pretty big deal back in the day. I remember their house sort of looked like the Brady Bunch house.

I love you, Zippy! That Madonna comment at the end was funny. I haven't seen This Is It, but I want to. I'm thinking about it, kind of. I don't know much about MJ, I'm only 23. But, I guess I know a decent amount of his music, and I always loved Thriller and Billy Jean. I gotta say, I think he was a very, very talented performer/singer. Anyway, thanks for your review on the movie. Made me wanna see it even more now!!
