  • you sleep much less in your second year, but you get used to it. It does prepare you exceptionally for Uni. IB students find university much easier than students from other courses.

In the first year I went out and partied a lot, basically every weekend, and still managed to be predicted 38-40.

UK Universities really like the IB (atleast most of them)

Its rigorous but worth it. I finish 18th may! months and its overrr

  • IB:

    Lots of work?= Yes

    Hard?= Do u procrastinate?

IB ppl have no social life?= U social before IB?

IB ppl smoke, drink etc.?= Do u do these?

IB ppl hate life?= If you fuck up.

Colleges care?= Kind of but on your trans. it'll say you were in IB way up in SMALL print in the corner.

Is it bad?= Just try it. Not for you? Get out. Don't ask ppl who say "ITS HELL" or "Its'EASY" They're not you.

Stuck up?= Just the ones who practically shit out IB pride

Did I like IB?= It's school- what do u think?

  • IB=International Bullshit -.-

  • I just finished IB and I will agree, it was tough. But seriously, in the time that you spend making this video, feeling sorry for yourself and looking for sympathy, you could have been making sure you revised in order to improve your grades. This is the trend that I have found in many of my IB colleagues these past two years. Seriously, you chose to do the diploma so man up and get on with it rather than procrastinating.

  • @TeteViande I made this video a LONG time ago. I wasn't procrastinating. I was bored. I recievedmy IB diploma and started college as a second semester sophomore. Screw you.

  • IB is almost over for the year!!! <3

but it was a useful program in the end.... even if it was a pain in the ass

  • Oh god i am thankful that the school year is gonna end cuz it was fucking hell the last 3 qtrs. i shouldn't have enter the ib program.

  • how do you have time to do that?

  • excellent guys... real IB quality!

  • Haha, shouldn't you be writting your EE and not making youtube videos?

    Like I can talk...

  • Shouldn't you be doing your TOK essay instead of this?

  • lol people bitch the IB is too much work, however you have time for this BS.

  • @guscus69er procrastination 101.

I do this and then no sleep for 2-3 days.

I get used to this style of bs...

  • @SWBism hahaah i used to think so too! now I'm a senior and honestly, I do think some are still under suicidal watch! lol

  • Anger management or what..? :/

  • I've tried the American highschool system, the scandinavian school system as well as the IB. While IB is by far the hardest, it is also the one I feel I gain the most from.

  • if i could kill this devil's institute then i would in a heartbeat

  • Is it really that hard

  • hahhah!! paint..

just uploaded an IB RAP! ... for cas hours. ;)

made with AFTER EFFECTS!!! go watch it!

    it's awesome

  • its not that bad. sometimes you really do feel like killing yourself but you just have to keep your eye on the prize and itll keep you going! -1 year down, 1 more to go :)

  • lool ill watch this everytime i ffel down becos of IB

  • ib is a great opportunity to learn (not like other high schools, in sweden for instance) i don't understand why people hate it so much. it was your choice so you shouldn't complain.

  • i am jewish

  • you fucking fail. you are all jewish.

  • you shoudl probaly all go finish your ee

  • They were due weeks ago... lol

  • actually the whole thing with universities looking favourably at IB - depends on where you are. I'm glad my pre-Ib was almost like a danish gymnasium class because now I find out that they downgrade Ib's here in denmark. Damn that sucks.

  • mega lolss!

  • im taking the entrance admissions test for pre IB soon... does anyone know if its worth it? like, i know its hard bullshit n all that, but does it get u into good universities? or recognized? SOMEONE?

  • First year is a cake-walk. The only "challenging" part for me was completing all of the community service crap. As for universities. If you complete it they will look at you better than regular kids, I am in my second year and so far it's still pretty easy.

  • thanks so much. was the admissions exam hard?

  • I wasn't required to take an admissions test. However I know people that have taken it and they said that you just need to look at every question carefully and not make any stupid mistakes, like reading a question wrong. I'm sure you'll be fine.

  • @ItzTheConMan

    clearly not working properly.

The final year is killing me. Granted, it lulled me into a false sense of security in the first few weeks.. Then IA's hit.

Now I'm lucky to go to bed before 5 am. Roll on May 21st.

  • IMHO there's no better programme than IB, it's recognized on an international level and you can get college credits/scholarships etc depending on your grades.

Good luck though, you're gonna need it. I still have one semester left and I'm about to kill myself :)

  • Its worth it bro... even if you dont get the diploma... you can say on your scholarship essays and almost anything that you can apply that too.... that YOU are a FULL IB candidate. lol I may have scored 4 and 3 for my first tests... but you know what.... F it. I got into a OK school... they gave me good Financial aid because of IB... in the final rounds of Scholarships because of IB... over all... i feel way more prepared for college compared to some other guys... so F it bro..... F it...

  • lol i just got my acceptance letter into IB a few days ago... i hope its worth it.

is it as hard as ppl say it is? i just want to get into a good university, thats it. maybe a scholarship. for the entrance exam, i scored 9, 9, 8... but it was so damn hard! and that was just the entrance exam! btw, imaa girl.

  • Its not hard at all... IF you don't procrastinate. Like my advisor told me... "just turn in all the work, complete, on time, and you will get a B-. Dont be a over achieving nerd." lol best advise i've ever gotten. Oh... and if you do procrastinate... ask the teacher for an extension AS A GROUP, with all the other FULL IB candidates. You guys are the cream of the crop, its hard to say "No" to you guys. lol and good luck.

  • @bookwormGrL1

    congrats!!

    adivce:

    1. Don't slack off and say "maybe later"! Don't do it! It becomes a habit and kills you by your third quarter.

    2. As much as teachers says it- TAKE NOTES

    3. Be friends with everyone. That way you can always copy if you forgot something.

    4. Ask when you don't understand something!

  • @StrawRabbi

thanks so much! i'm completely terrified though. so many people are telling me that i'm probably guna get like 5 hours of sleep or less a night! is that true? and about universities...does it get you into good universities? because i'm thinking that since it's hard, it'll bring down my GPA or average, and then if the universities dont recognize IB, then they'll only look at my "downed" average.... that'll suck. unless its not trueee... i hope not..

  • @bookwormGrL1

Don't be scared lol. Most likely there will be nights where stay up until about 1 or 2 am but don't worry.

The university thing is somewhat of a lie (somewhat) some don't give a damn that your from IB and other are like "Wow!" it all depends on the universtiy.

Don't freak out though freshmen year is the hardest whether you are in IB or not.

Try to keep up your GPA but don't let that obession ruin your life. Remember only semester grades really count.

    Any more questions?

  • @StrawRabbi PREIB and in the actual IB and I think you're lying. Freshman year was the easiest. Anything after was bullshit. The whole program is shit. It values workload over education.

  • @Vorock16 Lying? How? This girl got accepted and wants to know what not to do. I gave her the basic outline. Should I say "STAY AWAY FROM IB! ITS HELL!"? I say freshman year was the hardest 'cause I wasn't in MYP before hand.

"It values workload over education." It depend on the student- if you can't keep up and learn at that pace it becomes a "workload". I know plenty that get A and B's and retain info. The college part is true though. I noticed IB has changed up a bit since last year.

  • @bookwormGrL1

Oh and it's worth it. But don't believe the whole we're a family crap. Yes you're closer but it's not like the family stuff they tell you.

It's not hard as long as you can keep up with the work. don't procrastinate though

and don't freak out over an F D or C- the only grade that counts is the semester grade which is averaged and weighted (you get about a .5 added to your GPA).

feel free to ask me more questions if you want to :)

  • LAWLS.

  • lol this vid is really funny and for those who are like "don't down IB" I mean like for me its not like serious, its just a joke between all of us who don't sleep at night because of homework. lol

  • Where did all you IB students go to college?

  • people like you make me appreciate the teachers that convinced me to do it, and my decision to stick with it. I'm halfway to the diploma, and I got my extended essay out of the way. I stressed so much, but now I am so relieved that I did it. The worst part is stressing, but once you do it it's no big deal.

  • DO NOT JOIN THE IB

  • IB rulessss

  • Is IB really that hard? do you constently have homework to do?

Damn. I wanna do this in Holland, but there are many many many many videos on youtube about how IB isolates you from your friends, freetime whatever.

    Is that all true?

  • Well, in all honesty to your question, it's a yes and no.

Homework is going to consume your greater existence for the next few years. But the thing is, it's a lot of work, but certainly not impossible.

And really, you get out of it what you put into it, just like in any other aspect of life.

But you aren't ISOLATED. You and your classmates are essentially going to take a jump off the cliff, but it's TOGETHER. Plus, with CAS hours, it's impossible for you to not have some extra-currics.

  • um..what are CAS hours? i read about them, but don't quite get it.

  • @blackberryfan101

it stands fro Creativity, Action, Service

to get your IB diploma, you have to do 50 hours of each. For example creativity could be learning an instrument, action could be to practice a sport, and service is basically community service

  • CAS is meant to make you well-rounded. It shows that students are more than bookworms, know how to manage their time, and are actively involved in more than just one type of thing. C is for being creative, doing stuff that makes you use your right-brain such as playing an instrument, being in choir, making art, or acting. Even making fliers or posters count. A is for activity, anything that you do physically to excersize your body or something counts for that. service just involves volunteering.

  • Actually extra-curricular are usually considered CAS. I count Varsity Tennis as part of the Active component, and various clubs as service. I have time for a social life on the weekends even though I'm doing the IB Diploma. It's all about time-management. And taking challenging classes with rigorous coursework looks good on your transcripts when colleges look at them. It's a bargain, but people should understand that going into it. In this competitive world having that experince is havinga legup

  • yupp

  • i agree aswell, and you can do it in Holland, theres UWC Maastricht, theres the international schools in Den Haag and Amsterdam and im pretty sure theres more

  • No, it is not.

I think the main reason why people hate the IB is because there is such a huge expectation to study 6 hours a day and stuff like that. You don't need to do so

In IB all you are doing is learning concepts and completing a few assignments. Although it may seem allot, chuck it all down into little bits, manage your time well (eg. study hard for 3 hours then you have the rest of the night off) and you'll be fine.

Its all about time management, so manage your time well and good luck

  • at my school IB is a lot more of participation in discussions than it is homework. You have to read and understand stuff, but there isn't much busy work.

  • That is the best way to approach IB i say.

At my school we rely allot on homework and writing notes and told to do "6 hours of study a night."

When sometimes all you need to do is to discuss a concept with your teacher for a lesion, then do an hours worth of question to get the concept concreted.

  • IB = Hell. ESPECAILLY if you are a lazy ass... so dont do it

  • i like your ideas, kill ib before it kills us lol

  • Ib kids are just like everyone else! they're not smarter or anything like that. They just happen to be in a program that makes the lessons a little more in depth than other student's program is. So, seriously, RELAX!

  • Whaaat hell naaw, we´re superior to the regular dumb-asses!

  • We just love 'Paint' XD

  • is IB really worth it? like, does it help your standings with colleges and boost your credentials? i mean, i'm more intelligent than most of the people who attend my high school, but i shirk from actual work. so i'm not going to join the programme.

  • well, it depends, in most cases it's worth it. east coast colleges & universities like IB a lot more than west coast. but if you don't like gratuitious amounts of work, then dont' do it. it's hard, but not as hard as people make it out to seem

  • Lol someone's a retard...

    Holocaust=Germany

-When has the U.S ever been apart of a holocaust

  • well the U.S. was always apart of the holocaust in that we were never a part of it.

    apart=separate

  • I'm an IB student (Spain) and I don't know why the fuck IB students usually think they are special or different. I've been drinking or going out every week and I have good marks. I just DISLIKE IBO because they are pretencious, burocratic idiots who just think how good sounds IBO.

And just so you know, Spanish IB students have to study high school courses too. My God, we're not ten.

  • I'm also an IB Student (Peru) and well I also hang out with my friends and have fun, but sometimes I locked in my room to complete all the tasks, I guess we're in deadline.

The good thing of IB is that it completely change your perspective of reality, and makes you more conscious about almost everything. The bad thing, at least, is that sometimes all the fucking numbers, letters freaks you out! more if you are a procrastinator

  • @DanBFinn Meh i guess if you plan well, you can go ot drink, smoke or do whatever you want at any time. Only problem is that most students are lazy and thus they do not pla nvery well (like me), and so even very simple things become very stressful, especially in the IB:

    //mmacritic

  • @DanBFinn I'd love to live in Spain then because in American IB, you can choose only two of the following: Sleep, a social life, or good grades.

  • @iHamitup I would say you could only choose one of those as an IB student. :P

  • Comment removed

  • Being in IB makes you abnormal because you are not taking normal high school courses. Don't hold me accountable for what other people have said- I can only be accountable for what I have said.

  • I also want to kill IB...because I'm a certificate student and am hated by every person in the IB program for "corrupting with my stupid". Yeah, taking courses leisurely and doing WELL in them, while having a job and a social life; sure sounds stupid, doesn't it? That and it gives people like you god complexes, and gives you a reason to treat average students like we're less than trash. Stop whining, stop harrassing normal students, and stop assuming being IB means you won't have a future.

  • I am in the IB program and I still have a social life and do well in all of my classes.... We love our normal people. Many times, we become envious of them. I think you had a bad experience with your IB program. Not all of us are like that!

  • I'm sorry, but your saying "we love our normal people" destroyed everything else you said. That's again implying that you're better than normal and so out there and different. I know you were trying to be friendly, but just look at the other comments left on this very video! rsjokes, for one, is also what is seen as typical in most systems. "We love our normal people"...jeez, you're...gah. When you're on the side that gets the benefit of the double-standards, I'm not surprised you don't notice.

  • BingKafei, I agree with you. At my school IB is the shit, and everyone who doesn't take it is either considered "standard" "average" or "too lazy" it is very negative. But when you say that there's a side that gets the benefit of the double-standards, although there is some truth to it, IB is a choice. At my school everyone has an opportunity to be involved in at least one class and it is strongly recommended so it's not as corrupt as you think.

  • Also, the benefits you speak of are earned. We work hard to get good grades in our classes and more importantly good scores on our tests. We don't benefit from little effort and procrastination.

  • Sure you are right! what, we are in the IB program so that means we are all the same c r a z y , n e r d y + e v i l f r e a k s???! And I also HAD social life...like 2 weeks ago when I still had plenty of time to waste "cos the exams are sooo far away...2weeks and 3 days, u kno, I can handle it"

  • hihihi

  • hi just thought id say-

    Lol this vid kicks ass!

    die IB :P

    nice one

  • 09 IB Senior!!!!

All CAS hours and the following papers are due in the next week:

Extended Essay, World Lit 1, World Lit 2, TOK Paper, Science Labs 1-7, Historical Investigation, Math SL Paper, (my group 6 stuff), Music compositions, Music Paper, Music Solos, and more that I am probably forgetting....

    *twitches and chugs more caffeine*

I'll be ok!! I got plenty of time!! Then all I have to do is memorize everything for exams!!

  • of all of that is due at the same time then your school is doing something wrong. We write our World LIt 1 paper, our Jr. Year, World LIt 2 and TOK paper at the beginning of senior year, science labs throughout the year(s), historical investigation throughout senior year, math portfolios throughout the year(s).

I wish we had IB music at my school.

  • haha loool. now you know, that if they cancelled IB and made us go to class with regular ed students you would freak! me and ib gotz a hate/love relation ship, i love it today, but watch tomoro i will have forgotten about a homework assignment and resent IB and its followers.

  • I'm just glad to finish World Lit 1 and 2, extended essay, and the worst class you ever will join "TOK". Just few more weeks

  • Are you kidding me? TOK is what makes IB worthwhile. its the most kickass class. the rest all make me want to shoot myself. lol. but i <3 tok.

  • I'm a math person. Tok is just useless for me. All the extra essays for tok, i have enoght essays without it. If you like tok, its fine by me, but sorry,I just don't get it what so intresting in it.

  • bs. I am also a maths person and ToK is a win!! It is the only subject that keeps me sane.

  • Can anyone plz give some advice about the DP cuz im on the MYP this year and i really need some advice from you guys.

  • Man, I hope after being a hermit for four whole years it pays off.

  • Whooo IB in my <3! Sometimes I wanna kill myself for choosing the IB-programme, but its just healthy to be a little suicidal, right!?:D

  • Honestly.. if you hate IB that much just DROP it. You'll be so much happier.

  • Totally agreed. The IB is challenging , but I am enjoying it immensely, the courses and depth of content are great in all subjects.

We all complain from time to time, but some kids simply bitch... well, stop doing it, you can always do lesser government programs.

  • That's easier said than done. For me, half way through Grade 12, I wish SO MUCH that I could drop IB, but it took me this long to realize what bullshit it is. That and anyone at my school who drops it gets pretty much blacklisted by our guidance department.

  • same goes here.. i'm halfway through the 11th grade year, and if we even seem like we want to quit IB, we are transferred back to our zone schools and put in remedial classes

  • i'm almost through y 11th grade year, and they are saying the same for us except now they are trying to again switch our ib program to another school, making it even worse, we wil have to get up twice as early, stay up twice as late to finish assignments and be thrice as evil in the morning ^_^ whoo! T_T. so we all have to stay in though so we won't have to go to remedial classes and make up classes IB made us miss, like tenth grade lit. errr.....so IB peepz might as well stick together!

  • ib blows monkey balls, it was crated by a guy who lives in his moms basement and eat cheetos on his bean bag chair

  • Not only do you lack basic grammar, you have the audacity to discredit an educational program you couldn't wrap your little uneducated head around.

    Great job dumb ass!

  • His grammar may suck....but then again, so does the IB.

  • Oh im sorry im not a needle dick like you and spend my life with books and for that i apolgies

  • First. Spell apologies correctly.

Second. What do you have that's sooo much more important and time consuming? Nothing. Shut up you lay twat.

  • Person313, have a good time working at McDonalds

IB for a stressful, sleepless but successful life, all the way.

  • You're a douche-fag.

  • your the reason we americans are told to be stupid. How is wanting to make a future for myself being a douche-fag?

  • Screw IB, TAKE AP! THEY ARE THE SHIZ! AP AP AP AP AP !!!!!!

  • Yeah I agree, yearsa before IB are paradise lol

  • what is IB

  • ahaha..replace the name with "Farley" and this is dead on..and for the guy that asked how much we pay in America:

This probably won't help you much but our coordinator gets our school a grant so the students actually pay nothing, but i believe each exam is about 200 dollars

  • Woah, you mean you don't pay for your exams? That's sweet.

  • So Victor!!!

  • hey..its me again...can u guys tell me how much did u pay for the 2 years of ib..? here in romania we pay 3000 euros at our school..thats about 5.200 $..pls tell me how much u pay

  • for us here it's free

  • yeh. where i am the program is free, its the testing you pay for. but the county pays for half of each testing fee

  • here it's totally free... i dont even pay for the testing...

  • Dont fuck with ib, bitch!!!

  • Guys i just started the ib an im kinda confused...i donno what to do...do u think its allright to quit...:( pls i want some answers...HELP:((

  • If you want to quit, do it. I'm halfway through Grade 12 wishing I had never done it...TOK and IB Drama are disgustingly bad. (DON'T TAKE IB DRAMA IF YOU LIKE ACTING!!) The IB definitely isn't for everyone. It's best to switch to certificates or drop it now rather than wish you had later.

  • just a little clarification...

IB sucks, but in the end it is not that bad. I made this in a procrastination effort while finishing my EE. Just so frustrated...and to the people who think I posted this because I did not get my diploma, well, you are very wrong. I did get it. This is just showing the frustration of many of a particular sect of IB at the crapfactory that is Warwick High School.

  • Guys cmon im gonna start my first ib year.....:( im kinda freekin out when i hear all the ppl sayn its RLYYYY HARD....:(( WHY WHY???

  • u'll see why ;D

  • Muahahahahahahahaha!

  • Be prepared for two very tough years. If you are taking pre-IB now, then know that that is not the real thing. The two years after pre-IB are much more challenging. Never ever underestimate the IB, it is the mistake many people make. Despite all the work, it is worth it, because it gives you very good general knowledge and skills that you would not acquire otherwise. Best of luck to you!

  • Pay attention, do your work, and SLEEP WHENEVER AND HOWEVER YOU CAN.

Keep that in mind, and you should be alright.

  • wat the hell is wrong with u! i am in my freshman year of ib, and i love it, even though sadly, all my friends stayed in regular classes. But in is great!!dont insult the ib!

  • If you are currently in pre-IB, then know that you are merely underestimating it, which is a very very dangerous thing to do. Pre-IB is like kindergarten compared to the two years that follow.

  • I HATE THAT TOO.

ima dropout and go to regular high school

  • zomg fuck ib lol.....:'(

    one more year...just one more..

  • And that one is so much worse than the first one ;)

  • AMEN!!!! ib took all my friends away!

  • IB gave me most of my friends...i rather enjoyed my time in IB...it was hard, yes, but worth it...esp when i found out i got the diploma :) i think most of the people who are bitter here are just mad cause they didnt get the diploma...

  • im not going into the ib program, i couldve if i wanted, im one of the smartest in my class and all, but i wanted to stay at the high school my sibliings went to, and i don't want some fancy education, but now, all but two of my friends are going to ib and i wont ever see them again, i know how it goes, they'll make new friends and forget about the old ones...

  • I HATE THE IB!!! this is coming from a student at the International School of Geneva (the damn place where the IB was created). I HATE everything about and my parents will disown me if i change to another program, because oh god if i do anything other than the IB i will be a failur. I HATE THIS!! last saturday was my 4 suicide attempt and argggghhh!!!!!!!!!!! there seriously is nothing good about this program (other than toturing students)!

  • yeah, i agree! it's going to be difficult!

  • you know that you're in IB when your friends cry to let out all the stress from the stupid assignments that dont really count in the end

(PS i already wasted three years on IB and to say that i should quit now is BS, i better get it after spending my precious social and sleeping hours on it)

  • IB is a major propaganda push by UNESCO and is very dangerous to Americans and American form of freedom. To find out more, join the Yahoo group USPEIN.

  • I want to understand why some people are against IB (other than IB students who complain about IB -- just LEAVE then!) because I don't see the threat.

  • Im against IB because they say lies. They tell you that will be special, and that you will study with different methods and speak more about the worlds problems, and thats a lie. I have just finished it and it doenst worth, if someone is thinking to do IB i seriously recommend not to do it.

  • Well, I personally think the IB made me feel like more of a world citizen rather than just a US citizen. I read world literature and even though I just did US history, its just the sense that I'm taking an exam on this non-american paper and its going to be read by people in Argentina or something. It gives you a nice sense.

  • lol a lil late for me now =[

  • very poetic. you get a 7.

  • YEAH!!! Now send this video to Geneva IB headquarter. Send it NOW!. Damn IB.

  • IB is so awesome. You all should be proud to have the chance to get to go to an IB school. So, shut up. If you don't like IB, go to a different school!

  • there's only one thing to say about IB at my school.. IB = International Babes

  • Very cute. Somedays I wish we could kill IB. like the day before any IA is due or the weekend before extented essays, but other days it's not so bad. By the time you're an Ib senior, most of the teachers are past caring what you do in class as long as it doesn't disturb them. In all honesty, my HL Chem class is my funnest class, if you don't count the actual learning.

  • hahaha..the other comments are funny...IB/IA is intersting but the vid says all...its hell

  • I'm in the IB program in Bonita. Where is warwick?

  • only the devil lives at IB headquaters

  • IB rules! =)=)

  • i hate 11th grade... i think its making me retarded

  • when you finish you;ll be thankful. I graduated last year and wasn't particulary intelligent but good teachers helped me get a 93.8/100. Just keep working

  • I could say bad things about the crappy flash sequence, but hey, I did have those weirdo fits at 4AM. It's finally over ^_^

  • Lol IB is great, upto the end of the first year, when suddenely the teachers start using the excuse that 'It is your future... so SUFFER'

Nah IB has its good points at least u dont become a dead head gamer or a moronic computer geek.

    IB- It Beats other courses

  • it kills your soul so you can dedicate your body for only work. and for that, IB is satanic!

  • Are you people saying this because u ppl failed the IB???

  • NOPE. IB just made us to do so.

  • hahahahhaahahah i love this! im only in PIB right now but i know whats coming...blehh

  • IB sucks, but it sucks more in nicaragua

  • IB= International Bullsh*ter. chya ANdrew Hill, SJ, CA Rep.

  • I HATE IB.. its everywhere... man EE.. TOK.. CAS... PHYSICS.. ECON.. dammmmmmmm...

  • EE...next week is my dead line...aaaah@@!!

  • Haha :P 38 points, biatch

  • tok essay in particular is the spwan of the devil come to kill me. I think they enjoy our pain!

  • aaw, Tok is a pain in the ass, my essay is due for feb 2007...and I suck in essay writting

  • I couldn't agree more, IB sux, yeah...knowing we all feel the same is pathetically great! :)

Idiotic Bastards, International Bastards...I like that one :D
