ZDX is a train wreck. The lower bumper valence looks like a 1960s Pontiac front end, the bottle opener grille is just plain ugly, and the controls of the seats are a direct copy of Lexus/Toyota that date back to 1992 in the SC coupes.

The rear door design and glass design are cool but overall for just under $50K with all options it is way over priced. You could get a V8 Infinity FX50 with nearly 400 horsepower, a 7 speed transmission, & electric suspension for a bit more.

Agree with MeintheWorld. I saw one this week in bronze and I cannot believe how nice it looked in real life vs. the Acura website. However, I disagree that they only sell this and some other colors with the technology upgrade. All colors should be available in all trim packages. For what it is, I think about 35-40K would be a reasonable price.

This is the kind of car design I really love, some people love it and some just hate it. It gives the car a unique feel and isn't just another cookie cutter SUV. I personally didn't like the car when I first saw it in photos but in person it looks a whole lot better, the stance and presence of it is great and I would say I like the look very much.

If it had more usable torque, could tow more and had more cargo I would definitely consider it over a premium midsize sedan. But with a roofline like that, you can't fit too many tall items. The torque is adequate but you have to work the engine hard to feel it. And it only tows 1500 lbs... The last one is the deal breaker, I could almost forgive it if its mileage was better. Almost.

thought at first the ZDX was a hideous bloated TL but in a dark color with the grille painted the same color as the car body, this would look very impressive. Styling is better than the X6, bu the FX takes the cake as far as design.

@juan1189 yeah, not only Nissan invented the Crossover with the Murano's introduction, but the Infiniti FX was the very first vehicule to embody the sports car concept with the SUV package. BTW, the FX is built on the FM sports car platform, whereas the X6 shares a platform with conventional SUVs.

In the same way that Lexus has mimicked Mercedes, Acura's always mimicked BMW (NSX notwithstanding). Their cars have always leaned more toward sport than luxury. So it doesn't surprise me that this vehicle comes out after the X5. But I think the over-the-top styling is how they distinguish themselves.

I remember being an Acura salesman when the then new Integra came out with the quad headlights. I thought the ugliest thing I ever saw and wondered how I was going to sell this thing. But the look grew on me and apparently everyone else as they started selling like hotcakes. I think the same about this grill: hated it at first, but now it looks cool to me

I sat in one of these at the LA Auto Show. I disagree with the reviews statement that 6' testers found the back seat comfortable. I am 5'9 (with a long torso, short legs), and my friend is 5'11' - BOTH of us found the back seat headroom extremely cramped. I was able hit my head on the roof if I sat tall easily. Other than that, this was a very sexy car, and is on my short list of Crossovers to replace my current Ford Edge later this year.

I like all the tecnological stuff the car comes with and the interior, but the car itself, is just ugly. I think the rear should be more upright that way you can put big things in the back. The grill looks "interesting". It is a very practical looking car on the inside, yet the outside is just way too futuristic for my liking.
