I thought the exact same thing about two years ago I think. I thought then "What IS this?? It's messing my mind!!". Well, two years after that I somehow found my way back to this anime and finished watching it here on youtube. Funny, how thing change, huh?

i like NHK because i am also a hikikomori...i would think that nhk would encorage hikikomori because i am sure most of its audience are also hikikomori.

If you have watched the entire show, you realize that it subtly tells you the answers to change.

Twice in the show, it was shown that a hikkimori went out to work for food when he had none. Living as a hikkimori is a luxury and sometimes have to be driven to the point where we rely on basic instinct to change.

The last ep, showed that although both Misaki and Satou still have problems in their lives and not very much has changed for them, they are facing that hardship together bit by bit.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is very interesting if you forgo logic and get absorbed into the show. Very interesting. Plus all the subjects in the show also have deeper meaning but has no real consequence on storyline and plot.
