@MrDevinme It's a time issue. More joints would add more time to doing the animations. They already take a couple hours or more as it is. I try to focus on them being humerous and not so much anatomically correct. If I had more time I could do much more in terms of the characters and backgrounds. As it is, that's the best I can do for a weekly show.
