Oh and also there was a few specs of dirt in the backfire screen and I could not get them out, is that going to be a problem? I just rode today and it worked fine.
@Gman200108 I've never seen a bike that didn't have dirt in the backfire screen. Truth! It shouldn't be any problem, but if it bothers you then you can take the carb off and blow that stuff out of the backfire screen with compressed air.
I recently got a 2006 CRF150F and I just changed the air filter 2 days ago. The previous owner put WAY to much oil on it and the whole inside of the airbox was coated in oily mud and shit. Took a while to clean but I got a new filter, oiled it up nicely, cleaned the airbox, and put it in and it runs 2x better now. My next small project is to change the oil and the sparkplug haha.
@Gman200108 Sweet lol. Most bikes that don't run correctly just need a good cleaning of the entire intake side, then they run just dandy. That has been my experience lol and I've seen a lot.
@rdalton5256 If you're in a hurry, use gas. If not, stick with water. I have seen filters become brittle and start falling apart from the owners using gas on them.
@statman26 Sure. Subscribe! I'm doing a video on how to take apart the carb and properly jet it. A good first thing to learn for performance tuning a bike.
@systemofadown269 No I still have my numbers lol. They're just only on the left side panel and on the front number plate. That's the only place I need them.
dudeee dont use water, it can fuck up your engine if any of the left over water gets into your engine. i knowits like a 1 and 100 of a chance but still you can get fucked pretty bad. just use gas it wont hurt anything, trust me i fucked my piston awhle back because i used water.
@2stroker125 Let it dry out then. I've always used water and the last time I took apart my top end it was completely fine. I even sucked water in badly enough to where I couldn't get the bike running anymore, and still my top end is great. I don't recommend submerging the bike LOL but just saying, these bikes are bulletproof as hell and if you let the filter dry out thoroughly you will NEVER have a problem.
@2stroker125 my crf80f when i was younger i out the hose down the exhaust pipe and tried to strart it but my dad was like "no big deal" so he drained the oil and took a lighter to the spark plug to dry it out it took like 15minutes and since oil floats on water all the water came out pretty easy but i wouldent recomend doing it to much cause it costs alot in oil
@djmadalrian LOL damn you just filled the sucker up? Yeah I submerged my friend's 150 on accident once. Just fired it right back up and it was fine, minus madly steaming everywhere.
