This is what the FA Cup was all about, not the rubbish thats on display nowadys when the players dont care about the competition anymore. Never tire of seeing this even though im an Evertonian. Nowadays half of those players wouldnt be on the bollody pitch because they woudlnt be allowed to have muddy shirts!
@OriginalYTName This was John Motson's debut commentary on Match of the Day. This was expected to be one of those games that made up the numbers for that particular programme, but Hereford United made John Motson's telly career.
I keep returning to this game to watch what I saw in 1972...now my 56 year old eyes are watering as they did 39 years ago. 'WHAT A GOAL...WHAT A GOAL' !! giant killing at it's best....the stuff of dreams.....years before football died of gluttony.
I was only one year old when this happened but saw it sometime in the late 80's on some football show. That Radford goal is a great goal and this is what football is to me.Not how it is now with the wages at the top clubs.Players today have no idea about real life :(
What many people forget (or don't know) is that Newcastle also lost to non-League opposition in 1964, 2-1 at home to Bedford Town. Bedford were player-managed that day by Jock Wallace, who was also player-manager of Berwick Rangers when they beat (Glasgow) Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish Cup in 1967. Awesome!
pitch invading pieces of shit. scum like that shouldn't be allowed to touch footballers

Radford didn´t score the goal. He tackled the Newcastle player, got the ball back, made a one-two with a team mate and scored the goal.

Ronnie Radford's shot was still accelerating when it hit the back of the net.

Motson just said on Football Focus 40 years thing that 'if Ronnie Radford's shot had hit the bar and come out, I wouldn't be sitting here now.' Epic!
