The movie isn't "ripping off" any modern superhero movies. It actually stuck pretty close to the graphic novel that predates almost all those movies. They changed the ending though, but I liked the movie ending better. The fan boys are going to attack me for saying that. Just watch.

I'm surprised that you found the sex and blue-penis so much more offensive than the very very graphic violence. I'm surprised you could watch the movie all the way to the end and still call it a marvel rip-off. The plot to Watchmen is infinitely better. Then again, it's impossible to do the graphic novel justice with a movie, so it's just as well that you didn't like it.

For the uninitiated (those who have not read the graphic novel), I guarantee that you are going to hate this movie. So yeah follow this guys advice and don't watch it.
For the fans out there you will not be disappointed with this adaptation.
For the parents out there that took or plan to take your kids to see this movie. I seriously question you as a parent. IT"S RATED R!!!

I said some of the exact same things about that movie that you did. Unnecessary sex, unnecessary blue penis! So, so disappointing. There were scenes where it looked like Dr. Manhattan wasn't CGI, but that they got some body builder to walk around naked with Billy Crudup's face digitally pasted over his own. I don't know that for sure, but I feel bad because I looked at this man's penis for three hours and I don't even know what he looks like! That's just wrong!

It's DC Comics and as for the ignorance seen in this video and your comment the graphic novel it's based off of is not just some generic super hero fare like most of the people who watched the batman/superman cartoons think every comic is but instead was made to describe the savage nature of humanity using the cold war as a setting and morally ambiguous costumed vigilantes that think they know how to fix the worlds problems even if they may have to break a few rules. Rocci, I think you may have missed the mark with this one.
"Watchmen" is based on an old, cult graphic novel that uses the superhero genre to tell a deeper story about human nature. It goes beyond the blue schlong. lol They ramped up the fight scenes for the film adaptation, but it's still not quite action-movie material if that's what you were after..
PS - Like everyone's been saying, what're these kids doing in an R-rated film with their parents anyway?

The movie isn't "ripping off" any modern superhero movies. It actually stuck pretty close to the graphic novel that predates almost all those movies. They changed the ending though, but I liked the movie ending better. The fan boys are going to attack me for saying that. Just watch.
