i love the hell out of this pedal, i ordered one based on this video and it came today. it's so much more aggressive in person; totally doom inducing, organ rupturing sonic death! it makes me think of an ampeg scrambler that is some how more evil. it's been a long time since i have had a pedal that i can just dime out all the knobs and go to town.
@ChickenFaeces Well it's actually very muddy. I've heard of combining it with a compressor.. that'll give you a little more control. Although... manipulating the tone knob on this pedal and using a lot of volume will probably give you the desired result as well. I think the tone boost adds a major shot of mids.
@ChickenFaeces mostly nuclear holocaust. like the opening chords in this video. unfortunately, it's very difficult to tell in this video, as i am using an older video camera and a tiny, belt-clip, guitar amp.
check out the song Slunk by the Smashing Pumpkins. there's a video on youtube of them performing the song live on Japanese TV. they use this pedal for rhythm. that video might give you a better idea... or at least a different perspective.
@synthesizer301 ill try it thanks. i honestly bought this pedal because of the disgusting wall of fuzz sound. i sold the one in this vid. hated myself for selling it. then bought a new one for an even lower price. love ebay.
@lbguitz2 you're totally right. there are a few clips floating around on the net that are from guitar hero or whatever. they are just the lead guitar tracks. one of them is just the cherub rock solo. you can certainly hear the low end growl from the fender blender in there. it has to be. sounds insane.
if you give me your email address i can send them to whoever wants them.
do you know if this pedal was used to play the song quiet and cherub rock,etc basically siamese dream by the smashing pumpkins. cause im trying to find that out to get the certain pedal. i already know for sure that i am getting this no matter what. sounds really good.
@gurtru billy uses this pedal a bit on various songs. however... he used a big muff late 70s v4 op-amp pedal to get most of the distorted guitar tracks on siamese dream. check out my video which features that pedal. they are totally worth the money. really incredible.
a vintage electro harmonix micro synth and this fender blender will also come in handy. im guessing (and this is just pure speculation) that billy used the micro synth a lot during guitar solos on the siamese dream album.

Does this pedal cut through a band mix? Like, is it very scooped?

@MrJohnnydel
Does it handle anything other than single notes? Or will it just cause a nuclear holocaust if you try to play some rhythm?

put a compressor in front of it and lower the gain than you can create a better sound
