ethiopia is not a monarchy anymore.lion on the flag or amblem simbolises royal family.i dont were ever gonna see lion of judah on ethiopian flag.

@PG1986ko actually the royal family is still intact and hold s the monarchy off shore you dont really know what yorue talking about obviously....the Lion can never be taken off the flag, any flag without the lion is ILLEGITIMATE...that would be like me taking my bedsheet, hoisting it, and calling it the American flag...go study your history man before you just type up comments

First,Like most americans on yt,or anywhere else you dont deal with arguments.Officialy,Ethiopia is a democratic republic.It is true that Ethiopia was a long age dynasty,but today due to historical changes dynasty only exists as a some kind of revial thing like in most ex-monarchial countries,including mine.`Any flag without the lion is ILLEGITIMATE`?Who am I or you to discuss inernal political affairs of indipendent african country?
