I heard this on college radio KEPC while driving home tonight. I really like the sound and feel of this song. It reminds me of something the Style Council might have done in the '80s. I'll have to check out more of their music.
Brilliant. Takes me back to the eighties when I was in Germany. Many happy memories. Wheres the time machine ? So I can go back. After a trip back to the 70's first.
Does anyone know if these guys are still playing/touring? Brings me back to Achorage, AK and all the great people I knew back in the mid to late 80s. You know who you are.
'Flaunt the Imperfection' One of the first albums I ever bought. Remember it was a bought at the Virgin megastore on Oxford Street back in the day it was a blisteringly hot Friday and i used up several AA bateries playing it constantly on my Walkman!
I remember buying the album ("Flaunt the Imperfection") at Moby Disc records when it was on Colorado Blvd., just East of Rosemead Blvd. That was some record store...
anyone got the promo video for this. It was filmed on a bus and all I remember is the bus going down that hill at the back of the Museum in L'pool. they used to have it on the Video jukebox in Flanagans in Mathew Street, a number of years ago!!
If you have it get it posted on here sharpish!!!!!!!!!
I wrote a comment 9 mths ago on this, I have just sat for the last 2 hrs listening to this wonderful band on you tube, tears in my eyes, luv the songs so many memories ,quality through and through.
I am still trying to find the promo video for "You did cut me".anybody know?
Nice to see that these songs have a similar effect on someone else. Something about this music is magical to me- triggers a major nostalgia switch and I yearn for younger, more innocent, more naive times.
seen these guys live bout 4 times met them at clitheroe castle gig a few yrs ago eddie where r those cds u promised ny 1 got ny tunes from sweet smell of sucess album ta put on utube these guys r xcellent live lst saw them in may 08 at darwen music festival needless ta say they stoke the show
I want to say I it on youtube or read it on allmusic or wiki, though I am 100% it was either or that says " Crisis" refers to either Daly or Lundons ocular "Asian" featurenjoy the sounds of these Mersey Giants had it not been for the fact that Lord Becker produced and thatas "King in Style" on the 1st "living in oblivion" ( check amazon ) also see.......
lots of omitted words in the last post to keep under the 500 character rule, I now see there is a handy counter to prevent this ridiculousness (14 letter word! ) / important words / read / China / s / blahblahblahblibbledeeeeblabbledeeblueHUH?
I don't know what made me Google the song; guess I had one of those "80s flashback moments"! I agree with other posters - what a great song & what great memories! Got a tear rollin' down the cheek...thanks so much for putting the song and slideshow up.
I remember my first China Crisis LP flunt the imperferpection..good album...my friend borrowed it and never returned!! thanks for posting...im going to get it back...after almost 23 years...ha.ha.ha
Beautiful...thanks for posting. There is a video for this tune. Would love to see that again. Its filmed on a bus that goes down that hill at the back of the Museum in Liverpool and into Old Haymarket.
They used to have it on the video jukebox in Flannagans!

Am I right in saying there are local references to their home town in the song:
'St Kevin' refers to their old school
'John the Boxer' is John Conteh former world light heavuweight boxng champ
'Phil the Captain' is Phil Thompson, ex Liverpool FC captain?
Good song!
MicktheMarmaliser 3 years ago 3
About Phil the Captain: At least,I Know they are Liverpool FC supporters.
During an interview when their visit for a concert in Madrid, in April 1986, a journalist asked them if they supported Liverpool or Everton FC.
They said Liverpool FC.
