  • I heard this on college radio KEPC while driving home tonight. I really like the sound and feel of this song. It reminds me of something the Style Council might have done in the '80s. I'll have to check out more of their music.

I am still trying to find the promo video for "You did cut me".anybody know?

  • Nice to see that these songs have a similar effect on someone else. Something about this music is magical to me- triggers a major nostalgia switch and I yearn for younger, more innocent, more naive times.

  • Question: Does anyone know why they named themselves China Crisis?

  • I want to say I it on youtube or read it on allmusic or wiki, though I am 100% it was either or that says " Crisis" refers to either Daly or Lundons ocular "Asian" featurenjoy the sounds of these Mersey Giants had it not been for the fact that Lord Becker produced and thatas "King in Style" on the 1st "living in oblivion" ( check amazon ) also see.......

Fun Boys of "Our Lips Are Sealed"

    UltraVox "Vienna"

    Naked Eyes "Promises , "

    anf Her Heart" MEGA TUNES<

  • lots of omitted words in the last post to keep under the 500 character rule, I now see there is a handy counter to prevent this ridiculousness (14 letter word! ) / important words / read / China / s / blahblahblahblibbledeeeeblabbledeeblueHUH?

  • the DAN STEELE's had a lot to do with their success...if i must give my opinion here...thanks > Lord Becker - hey that's a new one...lol

  • Hah Love Danny Steele

  • China Crisis indeed! Good one!

  • Vh1

  • Saw them years ago on the same gig as terry hall, actually i saw them nicking the other bands rider, priceless!

  • i remember my first job right out of college, i bought this album

  • I don't know what made me Google the song; guess I had one of those "80s flashback moments"! I agree with other posters - what a great song & what great memories! Got a tear rollin' down the cheek...thanks so much for putting the song and slideshow up.

  • My daughters love this song. they are convinced the kids are playing tag and their saying "Catch me! Catch me!" Anyone know what the kids are saying?

  • i would rather be a paki than a jew

  • thats what the kids are actually saying

  • "I'm as glad to be as happy as a king" - I heard the original before it was put on the track

  • Shows your great taste in putting up this gem!

  • Am I right in saying there are local references to their home town in the song:

'St Kevin' refers to their old school

'John the Boxer' is John Conteh former world light heavuweight boxng champ

'Phil the Captain' is Phil Thompson, ex Liverpool FC captain?

    Good song!

  • About Phil the Captain: At least,I Know they are Liverpool FC supporters.

During an interview when their visit for a concert in Madrid, in April 1986, a journalist asked them if they supported Liverpool or Everton FC.

    They said Liverpool FC.
