I see this piece is available in print for only $3.50 . Google "Aria On a Chaconne, By Joel Martinson" I found this information by following Rob's link above to listen to recording at Contrebombarde. That site lists the sheet music source.
This is really beautiful. Are you using the Hauptwerk MIDI digital program or is it another one? Where you you get the manuals/ pedal board etc? thanks!
Duh. Why don't I expand the caption and see who wrote it. Don't get old. You won't like it. Please excuse the leap without the look. You do beautiful work.
This composition gives me a swelled heart and moist eyes. One of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard. Did you write this, Rob? Is it in print? I would purchase a copy. Please tell us who the composer is. I would like to hear you play Invocations by Mathias. Your playing is inspiring and moving.
I attend Transfiguration where Joel is the Director and organist. This piece sounds fabulous on our brand new instrument that was just installed and is still under going voicing. This is one of his many pieces that are just great composing.
This is so beautiful and you are so talented. It's very inspiring and worth spending the time watching you playing! Love it so much! Thanks for sharing your talent!
This video gives me an incredible sense of peace; there's almost a hypnotic sense about it that effectively calms me when I need to be calmed. I'm going to learn it as my first 'organ' piece.
hello I have sixteen years and play organ , I would like to have a home organ like the one of your videos and let me know if you bought yourself or if you are built... sorry , i'm italian and i speak english bad..
I get chills everytime I listen to this piece. I have no words to describe this feeling. When it ends you just want more. What stops do you use for this piece?
Thanks Emmanuel, I do thicken it up a bit in the middle, but the beginning and end use a fairly straight registration of strings on the Swell and Bourdon + Flute Harmonique. It's definitely one of my favorite combinations on the Metz!
This piece is so beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. Your interpretation is marvelous. Is this piece easy to find. I absolutely have to get ahold of it. My church would swoon over this as a prelude.
Beautiful, sensitive and fine playing...simply beautiful playing of lovely pieces...this and the Cundick arr. of Jesus the Very Thought of Thee. The Hauptwerk is truly and amazing creation. I've not heard or seen one live but the clips of seen and heard are truly amazing.
You Sir, are one of the finest Organists that I have heard the privilege of having heard. You are one of the main figures inspiring me to start playing the Organ, and do my part to try and turn around the decline of young organists. Thank you, for this, and all of your other videos.
Where or how can I get a virtual organ like yours. Until i looked at the screen i thought it was coming from a large cathedral. Just beautiful sound and you do so well at it. I'm opening a file just for your recordings.I presume you're lds. So am I. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
can you get this copy for the piano??? i don't play the organ, i've been playin piano for like 9 yrs...my sister in law and the band played this song and she had the solo--and i fell in love!!!!
I came across this on YouTube today, so I had to bookmark it on my iPhone, and I've been driving around Dallas / Forth Worth jamming-out to this in traffic. What a beautiful song. I can't wait to learn it. I'm also excited about possibly trading-in my old Allen organ and getting one of these fancy virtual ones -- the sound is great -- and the playing is even better!
I heard you playing this beautiful piece and ordered it for myself. You have inspired me to rid myself of my big 3 manual and pursue a purchase of one of your great sounding instruments for my studio. I look forward to you next posting of music.
That was a wondefully tender piece, thanks for sharing. Oh, and by the way, I think the suit works fine - nice to see you have some pride in the presentation.
Thanks Lance, you get a lot of bang for your buck on this piece, it's not too difficult, and it has a very dreamy feel to it. One of my favorites; I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Rob. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful musical selection with us. I thought you played it wonderfully with great phrasing and feeling. I was not yet familiar with the piece.

I would have thought a gade 7 organist cold play it.

How hard would you rate this piece?
PipeQuest 2 years ago
@PipeQuest I've just got the music for it. It's not too hard, some tricky stretches in the right hand part, but otherwise fairly straight-forward.

I admire your relaxed approach and your economy of movement.
I wonder if your technique would change on a tracker action.

So pretty, so sweet. A wonderful example that Cavaillé-Coll-organs are more than only roaring reeds!

Truly incredible, Rob. I almost cried. Very reminiscent of Ravel's Pavane Pour une Infante Defunte, which incidentally nearly makes me cry as well.

The strings are so luxurious--they have a "wrap-around" sound, even from my computer's speakers!

Sort of Sugary Richard Clayderman for the Organ.
Flor Peeters is much better stuff.
For a Canon try Choral by Joseph Jongen.
You play with love and conviction, however.
