@1976MUSTANG Do not ever doubt the 4.0 inline six....matter of fact do not ever doubt any engine unless it is specifically known for blowing itself up....I had a ford 2,9 v6 that was known for noisy lifters....which it certianly had....but man could that motor hit the rev limiter all friggin day without showing any lick of trouble. Just showing your engine proper maintenance makes its outlast most others who dont even care to change the oil...trust me on that
That engine can NOT be stock....
I wish mine did that, but i think i would break something in the drive line if i tried, lol.
