I did not see the video of the person you are talking about. But with that being said, I have to say that I totally agree with everything you are saying. I understand what your problem is here. I don't know if you agree, but I personally wouldn't be as offended if someone were to say what they identify as and then gloss over the rest, but I do frequently see and hear people go so far as to personally name every other way someone could identify, and say "or whatever" when they get to us. It's good to know someone has the metaphorical cajones to say something (in general, not specifically to the other user as I have no comment on that.).

Im very touched with this video, at first i wont lie i thought maybe you were attacking the other individuale (in the beginning ofcourse) but after listening to it very closly..being transgendered FTM..i have to agree with u 100%. knowing various of lesbians and bi's who have used the term "lgbt" and yet know absolutley nothing nor care less about the "T" its a big eye opener for me and makes alot of sence. Thank u for expressing ur feelings and ur thoughts. im glad i came across this video.

As a straight woman who's upbringing taught me to take every person on an individual basis I have an inherent dislike for generalized platitudes, and that is what I see the "It gets better" campaign to be.
The life that may be identified as better to one may not be desireable to the many yet the tone of the videos seem to be "if you follow my life's journey you will persevere..."
I'd rather the reality shown in this video than that myopic world view, any day.

I've been railing about the GLB (oops did we forget the T) community. They will never represent us... period. We need to basically organize our own initiatives. We are like Steve Jobs being kicked out of his own company. Us trans are crazy talented and computer savvy. So lets GET Organized!!! :)

The ONLY reason she didn't strongly include the T community is because she isn't transgendered and can't emphatize with them. Her video was heartfelt. And if you claim that none of what you said was scripted, how come for most of the video it seems like you're looking down and reading something off screen?

The trans people I know are not out as trans, so they wouldn't do a video. If trans people choose to not make "it gets better" videos, rather, they make "it gets better? really?" videos without seeing other trans on the project's selection, I don't think they can blame it on the project.

the trans-community has always been misunderstood. agreed, we are far more than a saturday night event at a local bar or streetwalkers looking for a temporary thrill. i know one that's a succesful composer and violinist. another is working with the obama administration. who knows how much longer will everyday people understand tg's are just as human as they are?

You obviously have not seen all the videos. There are many videos of trans people in the project's favorites list. I remember at least five. Honestly, a lot of trans people I know would not do a video.

What is important, if you paid attention, is the fact that the gay community constantly uses the the trans community just in name, only to leave us stuck with the burden & fear of discrimination.

They focused merely on gay teens who considered committing suicide. And left us out as usual. That's the point of my video. To let people know we are not HAVING it when it comes to the lgb folk using us and not giving a f@*k.

As a lesbian who is not trans- I absolutely agree with you. The LGB needs to get with the T- all too often, the T is there for show and nothing else. Can you make a video to show what people can do to give more love and support to the T? I would love to hear some ideas because it's been going on too long- we need to all come together. There aint no trans booths or intersexed booths at gay prides...so I stopped going. When they did have them, no one ever supported them!!! I totally understand your anger, and you have every right to say what you want because it is the truth. This has been going on for years and I'm glad somebody spoke up about it in a decent way!! Somebody that I am subscribed to said the same thing this girl said in his video....lesbian, gay, bisexual, or whatever...and I'm like, OH KAY....Do they know that transsexual suicides make up most of the gay suicides in general?? We wont even go into the undislosed homicides and murders. No suicide is good...but include EVERYBODY & not just certain labels!!

I agree 100% girl!! just an ancronym in the HRC...so sad. It's horrible!! They pissed a lot of intersexed people off like this when they included us in the LGBT ancronym, LGBTI, when gay marriage was really heated last year. People, who were not intersexed by the way, were posting videos about how can you define what a man and a woman is when you have people who are XXY or have this syndrome and that syndrome. I think they do it for their convenience which is very selfish.
