the man on the horse wanted to marry her in real-life but she turned him down, but it was for the best because she would have been a widow anway because he died very young
It's all about earning money today...in the golden days, they did everything they could, to do a good movie...today, they do everything they can, to earn as much as possible (no mather if the film is getting good nor bad, as long as they earn well on it)!
That's why almost every new movie have a few guest apperiance by some other fameous actors, to make moore people watch it. So that they can act proudly, when some of the movies that aren't even worth seeing at all, is called "blockbusters" =P
PLEASE DO NOT READ DONT READ THIS PLEASE DO NOT READ DO NOT READ DO NOT READ swear do not read...I don't even know why I'm participating I guess I'm still a bit paranoid. But really do not read this I swear . Also thanks this was really appreciated. DO NOT READ:This is so stupid... But i love my mom deeply... And i don't want to take any chances. Sorry. @rocknbluez - totally agree - this episode is so funnay and cute - so many smiles there! I watched the movie innumerable times. Love it from the day I first watched it - when I was 9...!!!!
the man on the horse wanted to marry her in real-life but she turned him down, but it was for the best because she would have been a widow anway because he died very young
old is gold...these songs will pass into eternity. Acting, Music, Lyrics, Voice are incomparable. The present day music is all about technology and copycats.
As a child, I would insist that all of my friends sit down & watch the film with me -- people who had no clue what Hindi cinema was like. Aaah, the memories!!
Thank you very much for the upload of India's GREATEST film of all time!!!
My mother & I always discuss how "different" Hema was in this film -- different in the sense that she has not delivered roles quite like this in her entire career (Shanno from "Raja Jani," & Basanti from "Sholay" are a close call, however). I mean, she was F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. in every second of the shot. Whether she was indulging in her acrobatic moves with Raka to earn a living or roller-blading with Ravi, she was such a delight to watch!! Geeta is cinema's most beloved character!!!
Welcome to the list:) I own three copies of the film (two are dubbed in different languages), have seen it more than hundreds of times per year for the past fifteen years, and consider it to be my favorite film in the entire world. There are many things I've been obsessed over due to being a passionate individual by nature, but this one definitely tops the list -- not to mention my being an ardent fan of Hema for ages. Hema ruuuulllleeeed this film all the way!!!
Love this film, such great fun & beautiful songs.Cliche "they don`t make them like this anymore".
My Mamou took me to see this in (Port louis) Mauritius, on a hot summer day.I was about 5 year old & I had ice cream ,I thought I was the lucky kid.
Sadly My unlce pass away last year...I thank him for the nice thing in life...For giving me such nice memory to see such beautiful on the Big sreen....
This song fits in after they've met, he picks her up and they go to a pool. At the pool Sanjeev Kumar is looking at a female patient's foot and Hema gets jealous and then it's the song sequence. It's a part of the regular movie, it's not an extra or anything.
I looooooooove this song, just as I love the entire soundtrack to the film! Beautifully composed by the late, great R.D. Burman, with the rendition of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar.
I especially love Hema's outfit in this scene. Hema brought out the best of the 70s with her cool-chic outfits one day, and the traditional saris the next. Topped with extravagant hairstyles and royal-like accessories, she was the complete package!
I liked the scene when she is as Seeta is dressed (pink) in western ways with a tattoo on her beautiful face: Ravi and his parents should have appreciated that it was not vulgar. She looks extremely beautiful in that scene.
Golden girl of Bollywood, paired with one of India's finest and loveliest actors: Hema Malini and Sanjeev Kumar! Hema could not get any more lovelier and funnier than in "Seeta aur Geeta". Though Geeta will ALWAYS remain my favorite character of Hema, it's also noteworthy to mention Hema's brilliant acting during the Seeta scenes for she was very sweet and extremely angelic.
