  • did that hurt?

  • uggh..it been four weeks now...can't wait to get this removed! then physical therapy...just wondering how long did your PT take and were able to regain movement back of your injured finger...I have a pin in my right ring finger..hopefully this tuesday coming out...thanks

  • hey man i have a metal pin in my finger as well

its due to be removed mext month(5 weeks after surgery) and i'm just wondering if you could tell me about the healing process...

how long after removing the pin did it stop hurting to press/put pressure on the finger? anything else u can tell me would be great

  • @TuviReb If I remember correctly, it took about a week to stop hurting. Just avoid putting any pressure on the tip of your finger and you should be fine.

  • OH MY GODS

  • I have a pin in my left ring finger and get it removed in two days. My doctor warned me about bending the pin while it was in. How do you know for sure if you bent and if so what happens?

  • @MrKmacs I remember when my pin was in my finger that it was nearly impossible for me to bend the pin from the force of the muscles in my finger alone. You could find out if you bent your pin from an x-ray.

  • im getting mine out tomorrow...did they give you any anestheia? did it hurt

  • I just broke my finger, and I have surgury on it on Wednesday. Does it hurt when you get the surgury and/or when they take it out..?

  • @LoveyaMaggs The surgery does not hurt because I was under general anesthesia. When I had the pins removed a few months later, they gave me local anesthesia (so I was awake when they took the pins out). That didn't hurt either.

  • help, just accidently pulled my pin out my finger, what did they do after they removed your pins?

  • @TheBrooksgary Once they remove your pins, the anesthetic should wear off and you'll have a bandage on for a few days.

  • Ugh my friend just got 3

  • You should check out my pin pulling video...Yours looked easy compared to mine haha

  • it looks like ur flipping off the doctror

  • hm. just do it yourself at home :) vice grips and plenty of force should get it done lol

  • NOOOO!!!

Why did I watch that. WHHYYY?. I have a pin in my finger now and now I am shitting my pants about getting it out in four months.

  • i get pins pulled on the 26 does it hurt if you dont get numed

  • i have two pins being removed 2marrow ...does it hurt??

  • no it doesn't hurt because they put me on painkillers.

  • hi um i had an operation around 2 weeks ago and they have told me that the pins will need to be removed from 2 of my fingers. They said that i wont be asleep or anything but i will just have gas and air that wont numb it but will help with the pain. Is this what you had and did it hurt?

    than you soooooo much!!!

  • Hey, for this video, the doctor injected my finger with some anesthetic while I was awake and they pulled the pin out while I was awake. Don't worry, you won't feel a thing when they take it out.

  • @Ccrowe17 how will they inject the anesthetic?...I really have not had luck with needles from novacaine to IV tubes

  • @evoLxclan Unfortunately they injected my finger with anesthetic via a needle at the base of my middle finger (above the knuckle). They made 3 injections at that location. If you look closely at 0:15, you can see that my middle finger is slightly swollen from the addition of the anesthetic.

  • did it feel like weird after it got out?

  • The doctor didn't put me under, he just numbed me up, so I was aware of what was going on. The weird thing was that when I did have the pin in my finger, I would try so hard to bend it but it wouldn't bend (it was a very weird feeling). However, when my pin got taken out and after all of the numbing medicine was gone, it kinda hurt when I tried to bend it.

  • I'm getting a pin inserted in the same position as yours. How was the procedure when they inserted it? Were you awake or did they put you under?

  • Ya, they put me under. However, it was not any sort of gaseous anestestic, it was an interventricular local anestestic. So sometimes during the operation, I would sort of wake up just to feel them squirt more anestestic in my IV and I would then soon pass out again. The whole procedure was about 2 hours long, but it felt like 10 minutes.

  • mine was only an hour and he just yanked my pins out it doesnt hurt all that bad tho
