I think you may be thinking of the "Master Cylinder" recall that was done on the VR6 equipped models of the R32 back in 2004. That has to do with the internal hydraulics. Different cylinder. That was 100% recalled.

So you MAY be thinking of that.

Now an engine cylinder doesn't get cracked... unless you are running it at redline and pouring beebees into the engine. (or it is a 1960s Bug that has hit the dirt)

A simple thing most people wouldn't know is how to put it into reverse. You press the brake and push the R button left of the steering wheel. Same with the F430 to put it into reverse.

The only VW Group produced 3.2L "V6" is the AUK/BKH/BYU/BPK. The problem is that these are common rail FSI (fuel stratified injection) engines. The only Golfs that are FSI are 2.0L. So that means it is simply not an R32. Hence the name "R32" = "3.2L" Besides, the 3.2L V6 is in Audis only.

Now to be childish:

If this is truly a MkV (Mark "5") R32 as indicated by the video, then it would be standard with the 3.2L VR6 motor configuration configured with a 6-speed transmission. This guy's car was indeed just that. Also you could hear the engine and it was obviously the larger 3.2L engine.

I just did a full TSB lookup for all VR6 engines. There is nothing on them even matching that. The most that there is wrong with them is the electronic controls were going bad in 2002.
