Wonderful apparatus, nice string arrangements, Grappelli a true master at his craft, and not an understatement, to have called him the best Jazz Violin player in the world up until his death, and an even classier move, the two guitarist, Martin Tayler & Tal Farlow. "Stellar"
I was lucky enough to see him in the late 70's. Seeing this, and marvelling at his improvisational skills, his sensitivity and pure feel for the music, brought it all back, and brought me to tears. Miss you Steph

He was not ( due to lack of improvisation and creative abilities) And I can't forgive him for not coming to Django"s funeral after so many years of cooperation.

As wonderful as this is it really misses the lyrics which were a perfect match for the melody for this tune from "High Wide and Handsome".

da19lila.38. What was he doing if he wasn't improvising? His variations on the melody were beautiful.

Although raised on rock music, I was lucky enough to witness a Grappelli performance in Atlanta when he was 76.
He was genius..."liquid music" would best describe him...soooo smooth and fluid.

In 1933 he played with Django and in 1984 at 76 he seems to play even better...
