  • You know how there's certain frequencies or combinations of them, that affect people differently? The progression he's putting down at 3:42 makes my hair stand on end.

  • What no record producer school? Pentatonics and quartal riffs everywhere. A simple idea expanded. Hall Overton was the arranger since Monk was not all that proficient in scoring and arranging. Monk had ideas but he was too slow in putting them on paper. Monk is like a bad tooth. Your toungue can't help going back and licking it. You resist but the tooth draws you back to it.
