I just have one question: When are White males in power going to to stop expecting free labor? This is nothing but the Slave Trade all over again. FREE LABOR. That's all they want. They want all the money for themselves and to pay nothing to people who do all of the work. And some of us got the nerve to call the people who are used and exploited in these situations, "Lazy"! Who's the real lazy fat cat, eating all the mouses and laying all the traps? Who's the real lazy AND greedy one.
NAFTA was class warfare, pure and simple. There should have been riots in the streets when this piece of shit was passed against the American people's will.
I propose a solution. All the Republicans and Democrats who voted for it, all the lobbyists who pushed for it, all the editorial writers and media who justified it - why don't we send THEIR jobs to Mexico?
I guess "protectionism" is only granted to a favored few....
Ross Perot was right about NAFTA. Pretty good video. It simplifies a complex issue. However, there is no mention of the GOP (Bush and Co.) passing the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), which is worse and with more countries than NAFTA.
Free trade is the best thing any country can have, This is a dumb video, Tariffs hurt both countries, And what is wrong with a trade surplus and sending jobs overseas. When you save money with by getting cheaper labor you create more jobs eternally since the company has more resources they can allocate towards cheapening product price or expanding there business. Its a Win Win for both countries

@dusteroo There's no such thing as a stable job. The world changes and certain job are no longer required like the guy that sold ice before the fridge was invented.
NAFTA is not a free trade agreement but a corporate take over because its a deal where its written for big multi national corporations to go across borders where they get benefits while the rest of the economy suffers. Tarrifs, the lowest taxes, and the smallest government is the only way to return America to prosperity. In addition Mexico is a elitist controlled state where the government has a fascist control over the land, resources, and economy where the people suffer and the elites get rich

American needs to export the crappy jobs to China and Mexico. That is a good thing. We don't want to have to earn a living sewing socks. We need to focus on making our labor more valueable, thus increasing our productive capacity, thus increasing purchasing power. It is this simple.

@FrickinLaserBeam You"re kidding right? Those "crappy jobs" keep food on the table for the majority of the country. How do you think we will replace the jobs?Even if our entire country suddenly became college educated office job people, there couldn't possibly be enough jobs.I do agree about Americans buying cheap foriegn crap.I think we slould be more self sufficient or the whole country is going to look like detroit.
What many do not know is that the same shysters telling us they care about the environment, are the same criminals that sold us the economic, social, & environmentally destructive NAFTA & GATT expansion to the WTO. Al Fraud Gore was chief cheerleader for that. It allowed Corporations to relocate to countries that exploit their workers &the environment
No Carbon Tax which will make Gore&his Goldman Sachs pals billions of dollars
Begining May 5th and there after Cinco De Mayo, take a stand, boycott any business that hires these illegals, it may be home depot to a hamburger stand, if they are working at an establishment, take your dollars elsewhere. The time is now, spread the word. Ignore these Mexicans, let them know they are not wanted.
Soon it will be total war with them to preserve America, To deport illegal immigrants call
@Jenawahrheit ron paul isnt a realist..and it will be the downfall of him ever becoming president. Hes not a good presidential candidate..because he believes big buisness will stay to himself..Sorry folks hes not ross perot..hes Ron Paul ...stop beleive its the same guy. cuz hes old and smart.
What I have been pointing out is that Gore was chief cheerleader for the NAFTA & WTO creation which besides destroying multiple tens of millions of jobs in the US, allowed Corporations to relocate to countries that have little to no Environmental or Human Rights laws, so they create more GHG in production, then more in shipping the slave made junk back West. Cap & Trade will destroy what little industry that is left in the West & give the arch polluters a free pass
Al Gore was one of the architects of two of the most anti-American, anti-human rights, & anti-environmental legislation in the history of the United States. He was in office when NAFTA & GATT expansion to the WTO happened.
Multiple tens of millions of jobs that paid good wages were shipped to Al Gore's Marxist friends in China & the third world so that corporations who greased Gore's pockets could exploit the Environment & Human Rights & stuff their fat pockets with money
its funny that so called American car companies are actually less american than the Japanese. Toyotas are about 85% built here, so I dont feel guilty buying one anymore. Support the American middle class, buy Japanese
Wait, why would politicians sign this bill? I don't see how they would be making any profits, what was there purpose? It seems like only the big corporations made money.
i think we should nuke nafta because if we don't the USA will have more imagrizers coming over here and taking the jobz, we already don't have enough jobz that why so many people r unemployerized. darn nafta gonna take r jobz. i hate mekzicanz any hows, i mean why should we let europeanz into the country when we already dont got enough job the govment just want to take away are jobz so they can take away our guns.
I think that NAFTA was a bad idea. Of course it's only purpose was to gain profits at a minimal cost for the large corporations in USA. I feel like your hatred or racial preference has nothing to do with NAFTA, you should really post comments that aren't so ignorant. Also try to write intelligently maybe your opinions would be taken more seriously.
Although I'm an extremely conservative Libertarian leaning Republican I do agree with NAFTA, because your not liberal to be against free trade. The constitution gave us the power to restrict trade and with our trade deficit as high as it is we should. Also I don't know why we should do something as unconstitutional as the the income tax and we can't put a constitutional tariff with mexico.
is corn dumping when corn takes a crap hehehe...great video>>thanks for posting....i flip burgers to support my family hurray....I gotta a job ese urray...
@1998disco72 We didn't make it. The power elites again told us we should go for it. "Yea this is a great idea." I agree though. It's ridiculous. Toyota and Honda do better and they work with their people unlike the American companies. That's one of the reasons why the American companies end up unionizing more. People I talk to say that's a bad idea to not have a pyramid structure but a circle around manufacturing, but the truth speaks for itself. Chrysler and GM have been bailed out under Reagan
@1998disco72 and Obama. We need to get away from this heirachial bull or it's only going to get worse. That's why things suck. Course that doesn't matter to business. They think they've got it figured out cause their TV reaffirms their MINDSET instead of policies.
I feel machines can serve us as job creators rather than destroyers. And that's why I feel that the government should invest more into robotics through the military and businesses should also invest in it. The real reason I oppose and am against free trade. Is do to money going to other countries so they can build weapons to kill us. We should have machines, because in America with robots producing products at low cost millions of jobs will be created in that and countries will buy from us.
@simontimon2 I'm probably the biggest advocate for that. Yet what I believe is that the military should invest in robotics as in building a robotic military. The result of this would be new technologies created that the market would later use. We get a military that would make it so not as many young men and women have to die. And the market gets robots that will create countless amounts of new jobs and make goods and the way of life cheaper. I'm a Ron Paul guy.
@simontimon2 Well the note that Ron Paul is opposed to a strong military is a complete misunderstanding. He's for a non interventionist foreign policy that involves cutting 100 billion dollars out by getting rid of the 700 bases. I feel you should get rid of all the welfare, medicare, medicaid, social security, and all other unconstitutional government departments like Education and the 700 bases. Balance the budget and go to a 18% Fair Tax. And you put some money into borders and military science.
Great video. So true. NAFTA and WTO trade agreements are killing us. The party that promotes American manufactoring in a serious way will be the party of the future. I know the GOP won't do it, but do the Dems have the guts? Probably not.
I GET IT. So thanks for making this video for all of our American POLITICIANS. All members of the Senate and Congress. I'm just worried that it might not be simple enough. What do you think?
I guess I'm a cynic on this issue. I think there are too many lobbyists who hold enough sway on this issue with congress that the truth doesn't matter, no matter how simply stated. I think that's why, even after NAFTA has been less then a success as originally proposed, there are still folks in congress trying to pass other free trade agreements with poor Latin and south American countries that don't seriously cover such issues as wage disparity, working conditions, and environmental concerns.
Join the Campaign for Liberty (.com) and help us restore liberty everywhere. This is a global movement and this is our rally point for the human race that wants to live in peace, freedom and prosperity. Thank you!
It is good to see some points against NAFTA specially when trades like really had improve Mexico.
Some Facts you should improve: A Worker in Mexico earns less than 5 $ a day (not 1.50 $/hr) in a normal journey of 8 hours.
in the United States people unemployment dont raise cause a stagnation in the surplus of exportation (in fact USA imports more from china than he exports).
The fact is that Mexico should grow and then the USA will have a grat partner.
Thank you for calling me Genius... It is hard to predict how long it would take, but i can say you what happened in the last 10 Years... Mexico is in fact the economy nr. 13 of the World... Industry sector has grown over 350 percent and it is hard to describe a country in a way of improvement which has a hard society. a lot of poor and some rich, but very rich mexicans not only in money they have the best education in America.. (some in Harvard).
Let's see. NAFTA destroyed the American economy? Oops. No, it was free trade with JAPAN that would wipe us out, back in the early 1990s. Oops. No, didn't happen. OH, it's trade with China. Right.
Let's just close our borders. But who will finance our debt? Hmm...
Our trade deficit would not be significant if we weren't wasting our resources on deficit SPENDING, primarily on the war in Iraq.
The government would not be in so much trouble if people were working and paying taxes to the federal treasury. Wages have sunk soo low that 47 percent don't even qualify to pay federal tax. For America to make it we have to lower the standards to that of a third world mud hole. Bright future eh?
Barry Goldwater, Ross Perot, Ron Paul, C'mon we can not have only one person every 15 years who is willing to run for President or Congress to stop this junk.
We need our nations to end Nafta And free our nations!!

What do you think?
deepbluephthalo 3 years ago
I guess I'm a cynic on this issue. I think there are too many lobbyists who hold enough sway on this issue with congress that the truth doesn't matter, no matter how simply stated. I think that's why, even after NAFTA has been less then a success as originally proposed, there are still folks in congress trying to pass other free trade agreements with poor Latin and south American countries that don't seriously cover such issues as wage disparity, working conditions, and environmental concerns.

PEACE

These are by far the most insightful comments anyone has made on this video so far. Thank you very much for your comment.

how long is that going to flippin take, genius? 30 years?
mrtanny 3 years ago
Thank you for calling me Genius... It is hard to predict how long it would take, but i can say you what happened in the last 10 Years... Mexico is in fact the economy nr. 13 of the World... Industry sector has grown over 350 percent and it is hard to describe a country in a way of improvement which has a hard society. a lot of poor and some rich, but very rich mexicans not only in money they have the best education in America.. (some in Harvard).
I think Mexico will grow faster than you think

Yes Mexico is a great country but just for a few Mexicans.

You make far too much sense.

@2cobber
The government would not be in so much trouble if people were working and paying taxes to the federal treasury. Wages have sunk soo low that 47 percent don't even qualify to pay federal tax. For America to make it we have to lower the standards to that of a third world mud hole. Bright future eh?
