  • The landing gear really doesnt look trustworthy does it?

  • @1216saab Very true. These aircraft are fitted with the stronger Cessna 210 landing gear but the 172 RG is not so strong. In the 28 years of owning it, we have had almost zero trouble with it and the small amount of trouble we have had has been minor.

  • @JackerNo2 Thanks for the reply! It must be a dream owning a plane in itself. My hope is just to afford being licensed one day to fly.

  • Bloody hell... is that alarm inside the cockpit... i would jump out!

  • @4crevis It is in the cockpit but remember when you are flying and the cockpit noise is much louder (engine, radio etc) that undercarriage warning sounds just fine, its not too loud and uncomfortable to listen to

  • @JackerNo2 Ok... thanks!

  • @4crevis its cause the landing gear are up at a low altitude

  • @garanater Ok... thanks!

  • i think a 182 looks horrible with retracts

  • wow super annoying!

  • @JETT721 nope, looks more like the manufacturers label (probably McCauley)

  • @sgtchristensen Bang on!!

  • Are those landing lights on the propeller on that red plane at the end of the video?

  • such a great looking aircraft

  • what.. a horroble.. noise

  • I see that noise is the alarm of no down gear.

  • @FS2004ACoF no its the reversing bleeper for when im reversing

  • @FS2004ACoF the alarm is improper flight configuration, either the throttles are pulled back or flaps are down

  • @SuperFlyingguy Yup, you got it!

  • Do the gear door mods affect the cruise performance. I like the doors on. Never could understand if they were such a problem...why did they put them on in the first place.

  • Gear door mods??? Im not quite sure what you are referring to, Only the nose gear has the doors fitted, the maing dont have doors. The 172RG also had no main gear doors but the 210's did have them. Not sure if they were on all variants though. The 182 RG have always had doors on the nose fitted as far as I know, no mods have been incorporated

  • Ahh...so only 210 had the main gear doors. I figured all the cessna RGs had main gear doors in the beginning. My bad.

  • The 172 RG has the weaker undercarriage legs but the 182 RG series had the 210 legs therefore stronger. The main gear doors really complicated the retraction sequence. Very clever and well thought out design though i have to say.

  • I like the 182RG, especially the Turbo version with Radar, three blades prop, HSI / AP and GPS... The next good aircraft after my old AEROCOMMANDER 680. Thanks for posting.

  • This is rons isn't it?

  • It was a demo of a 182RG on lifts you 172 pilot wanna be's. Of course the horn was sounding. Having said that, I fly a 182RG, and I wish they still made them.

  • push the throttle forward!!!! the Gear-Up warning is loud!!

  • Hasn't it got something to do with the manifoild-pressure?

  • @SICRedhawk also need to raise the flaps above 20 degrees.

  • You know, You can stop that noise by applying the throttle past about halfway.

  • You Know what, I cant beleive you posted that comment! READ BELOW

  • good filming footage ,well done.

  • If you push the throttle forward past about halfway, it will stop the warning horn!!

On some planes you have to apply pitot pressure to the ASI to activate the gear.

  • Oh come on man give me a break!!!. I have been flying this plane for years. do you honestly think i didnt know that? This video was shot during the c of a inspection and therefore the engineer has to listen to the operation of the warning throughout the retraction sequence

  • for example Piper PA28R-201RT ^^
