this vid is from a tutorial from LSFCP Users group called: "Uploading Movies for YouTube with maximum quality."

If you prefer using iMovie 08, then there's a built in option for You Tube direct uploads.

I Use iMovie 06 HD, so I'm rendering it, then uploading it.

compressing it would make the quality worse, they made the video around 99mb, and made the screen size 240x360 which is the youtube video specs. that way, the video was produced with highest quality

I don't know what it did, but adding the &fmt=18 sure improved the quality. I felt it was worth the tradeoff of a little color washout, only noticable when comparing the two, especially with this video where overexposure is part of the style. I also appreciated the casting choice of the lead talent, she did an excellent job!

well the problem i run in using this codec is that it basically washes out all the color. And when your trying to make a professional video with nice color grading that is def a draw back.
