Hi, I tried this because my Toshiba Satelite is a slow booter. it's an AMD Turion x 2 with 3 Gb ram running Vista home. I found that if I left the processor box unchecked it booted from blank via password to running in 2mins 30s (I know!). Checking the 2 processor option added 15 seconds and the 1 processor option is a cure for insomnia at 3mins 45s! I conclude that your tip is a neat one but dependant on other factors such as hardware drivers etc. Thanks anyway though.
