  • I just bought this camera and I have two questions.I have a 45 mm lens,so if I get it corectly, the shutter speed should always be set higher then the lens? For example, when I use my 45 mm lens, the shutter speed should be 60 or if I use an 18 mm lens, the shutter speed should be 30?And the second question, the needle indicator is always up,sometimes it reaches the second "arrow"(when I use BC is shows it's ok),and I should always mach the needle indicator with the circle before I take the picture?

  • @Glupanful87 Not necessarily; having the shutter speed higher than the focal length of the lens is just a rule of thumb for taking pictures without a tripod.

If the needle is always up, then you don't have enough light. The more light you have, the lower the needle will be. Make sure you have the film speed dial set to what speed film you are using. And yes, for a proper exposure, get the circle (your settings) as close as possible to the needle (lighting conditions).

  • Great video! Thanks for posting. I just got one of these beauties and you're video helped explain the basics i needed. I'll probably hit you up for some questions as I get more familiar with the camera.

  • @RJLeo4 Glad to help!

  • Hello, I have a SR-T Super and I was wondering how to take a double exposure. Great Video by the way much appreciated. Cheers homes.

  • @brownwise Thanks! Well all you have to do is make an exposure, and hold down the rewind button while cocking the film advance lever. The shutter will be cocked, but the film will stay where it is. After you take a double exposure (or however many you want, by repeating this technique), just advance the film again, and the rewind button will pop out and advance the film for you.

  • Where can I get a flash for it? And how much do they cost?

  • @TaisakuSangeki Just look on ebay. They're not too much, it really depends. Generally shouldn't be any more than the camera. You need a cold shoe flash with a wire. There's hot shoe flashes you can use, but you need to then buy a compatible wire, which might be kind of hard to find. Like I said, just check around on eBay.

  • You sure you didn't mean to say 625? I have a 101 and a 102 in front of me, both of which take a 625 cell :\

  • Super helpful dude. I just bought a Minolta XG7 and its almost exactly the same as this SRT. You answered my question about the ASA. Thanks man!

  • @sharkpunch53 Glad to help broseph.

  • User manual is on the internet. How can I use Actual flash units with this model??

  • i GOT ONE. How much can I sell it on E Bay???

    Excellente condition

  • Is there a shutter safety? And roughly how much should I pay for it on the used market?

  • @tobearockstar0706 There's no shutter "safety," besides leaving the shutter un-cocked. And it all depends on the condition. You could pay anywhere from say $20 to $120. For a nice camera and standard lens, I'd stay in about the $50-60 range.

  • would the hearing aid battery you use work for a SRT 201? I know they're similar cameras, but are the batteries similar?

  • @basscrossbreed The battery should be exactly the same, yes.

  • @master777999 It says (the manual) MPX625, that no longer are produced. But I used a standard button 625 cell and photometer works fine...

  • awesome video..my grandmother handed this camera down to me and I had no idea how to open it or use it...whats the difference between this camera and taking photos with a digital camera and photoshoping the images?

  • @cerom2 The difference is that this camera produces real images that are infinitely better than what any digital camera can produce. Film has far better contrast and color than digital pictures, and not to mention more resolution. And most old film SLRs like this one have fantastic optics that can give a very shallow depth of field (everything behind what you're focused on is blurred).

My point is, film (and cameras like these) will always give much higher quality pictures than digital will.

  • My awesome cameraaaaaaaaaa! :-)

  • I have an XG-1 that's stuck on the Red S. I put film in, but it doesn't advance with the lever. So I tried pushing it back by force, because it seemed stuck, and now it's flimsy. I think I broke something, but I don't know what's going on anymore. Any idea? lol

  • @zaqgt5 Not sure. Something is/was jammed; there's some minor mechanical issue. Does it work now? Look online for service manuals for your camera if you want to take it apart and see what's going on yourself.

  • @master777999 Thanks for the reply bro. I read around and it seems like a mechanical shutter problem. Supposedly it happens on the X seires Minoltas. I ordered one off eBay a few hours ago for less than $20+shipping. So I'll see then when it arrives.

  • @zaqgt5 Anytime man. Huh, didn't know that. Hope your new one works out for you.

  • @zaqgt5 A very common problem, maybe yours maybe not, is that a capacitor quits working. It's a $10 electronic part that costs $80-100 to have somebody replace it. This requires soldering. It will prevent film advance, sometimes lock the mirror up or 1/2 way up. A quick search for "35mm repair" will find lots of people and places that know how to fix this. There might even be somebody in your area.

  • Great video! I have an srt101 but its missing the rewind wheel.. any suggestions?

  • @BreakingSoBe See if there's a new one on eBay. Those just screw right in.

  • dude how do I Load/unload correctly the film?? can u make a video?

  • @TheMau17396 I am going to make a follow-up video to this, clearing up some stuff that I didn't think I made clear enough in this video. I'll make it as soon as I get around to it. Subscribe if you'd like to see it. But honestly, it's not very difficult. Just put the film canister in one side, pull the film out towards the other side of the camera, stick the leader of the film in the slit on the spool, and wind once with the back open to make sure it's good. Wind twice after closing the back.

  • hey i just fot a minolta srt 101 and i was wonder the exact batter i can get and from where can i get it.

  • @natnat5171 Just go ahead and pick up a 675-cell zinc-air button battery from your local store. It's not the same size as the battery compartment, but it'll still work just fine.

  • meter problems were notorious with this camera. I would certainly not repair it if it is broken. Use a hand held meter or exposure recommendations on the film box.

  • At ~07:30 did someone get raped and murdered?

Anyways, I got this camera today from my father, he bought it for me at a swapmeet. It seems fully functional. I haven't tested the light metering yet since I don't have a battery, I'll get to that on monday.

One thing worries me though, the rubber foam in the rim of the back cover has dried up and fallen out, should I do something about this? I'll be veryt thankful for an answer.

Great video mate, I learnt alot about my new camera.

  • @Gefrce haha nope, it was just some 7 year-olds going crazy.

Sounds like a good buy. If the foam has fallen out, you'll definitely need to replace it, otherwise light will leak in and most likely ruin your pictures. They sell plenty of kits to replace that foam on eBay, just look around.

My pleasure, that's what I do.

  • @master777999 Thank you so much for the answer.

I started looking and I read on Swedish photography forums that alot of people sucessfully purchased and had the foam shipped to them from user "Interslice" on eBay, who had complete and pre-cut kits.

Now though he hasn't had a sale for 2 months and no products are up for sale. I really can't seem to find any other place to get it.

  • @Gefrce Yeah, I just looked myself and couldn't find any, weird. Well, I guess your only option left is to send it to some camera shop that does repair on these vintage cameras. Do a google search for one near you; I know I've found plenty myself.

A lot of the camera shops offer packages for these old cameras where they replace the light seals, lube all the moving parts, adjust everything, etc. They usually cost between $45 and 65 USD. And it's not all bad, since your camera will work like new

  • @master777999 I think I might just do that!

I'm sure it will be more expensive since I'm in Sweden but probably well worth it.

    Thanks again for your advice.

  • @Gefrce You're definitely right, and you're very welcome. Every penny spent on this camera is one well spent, because it'll last you pretty much forever.

  • @master777999 Update: My camera now works perfectly and I've used it almost every day for over a month. I really love it. Thanks for the help. :)

  • @Gefrce Awesome, glad to help!

  • my dad gave me this camera, its awesome i love it!

  • JEEZ BEN! I NEVER KNEW HOW GOOD YOU WERE AT WALKTHROUGHS

  • @aSnugglebear Thank you sir. Yeah I'm not too shabby

  • @master777999 lmao dude...its kevin

  • @aSnugglebear I know...

  • @master777999 i never said i'll dislike but at least i know more about my dads camera

  • @kenziegtaIVking haha sounds good.

  • WTF i searched SRTT (saints row the third) and i got this???????

  • @kenziegtaIVking You ended up on a video about a fantastic vintage camera. Don't dislike; just leave if you don't want to see it.

  • Thanks for sharing! That's pretty enough info! But I would like to know how the Flash Sync works. Is clodshoe work with normal current flash such as latest ten yrs ones. Thanks a lot!

  • I LOVED that camera! Bought one when I got my first job in 1973. It was stolen during a breaK-in at my home in 1996.

GOD... this brings back SOOOOOO many memories!

  • I LOVED that camera! Bought one when I got my first job in 1973. It was stolen during a breaK-in at my home in 1996.

  • Hi, I have this camera and have recently bought a Nikon D7000 DSLR. Can you tell me if the lens of the MINOLTA will fit into the Nikon D7000?

  • @say2sumon As it is, no. But there are all kinds of adapters for pretty much any combination of camera and lens available online. Try searching eBay for one.

  • @say2sumon I have a Nikon N8008S and some lenses that were not taken when my Minolta SRT-101 was stolen during a break-in. The lenses are not compatible.

  • i got a 201 with a zoom lense?are they worth anthing mine is mint.

  • I purchased one at an estate and didn't know how to open the back, so thanks for the help.

  • im having a problem with mine i got a new battery for it but when its on the shutter doesnt move the little black piece does but thats it plz help

  • @tbhm8 The camera is completely mechanical. The only thing the battery does is power the light meter. When you cock the film advance lever while looking at the shutter, it doesn't move across? If you set the shutter speed to something low like 1/2 second or 1 second, the shutter doesn't open? If that's the case, then you have a mechanical issue.

  • @master777999 Thanks for replying. It was actually the contact with the battery was making a good enough connection but i fixed it thanks

  • Hi,

I bought one of these camera's while overseas from a second-hand camera shop. I'm new to film and am trying to learn everything! I know this is probably a really silly question but I was wondering how to reel the film back in. My dad did it last time and I can't remember how he did it!

  • @lilyremi3 No question is silly. Go to 2:30 in the video. To rewind it, make sure your film is at the end (the advance lever no longer moves), press the rewind button on the bottom, then just start spinning the rewind knob.

  • I'm sorry to ask, but what type of film goes into one of those Cameras?

  • @FizzyFlatSoda No worries. It's standard 35mm roll film.

  • very helpful thank you!

  • I recently got my Minolrta SRT 101 and it's great. I'm still getting the hand of it. the problem is that today after taking several shots, tthe shutter would stop and the small needle does not move at all. im guessing the battery is dead. . Could you please help me find a way to get a new battery or recharge it if possible i mean i reallly dont know what to do . or does the camera still work?

I would really appreciate it if you give me some advice.

  • I just found my 101! this video helped me open the back. i forgot. thank you!

  • @TheGrove101 Glad to help!

  • I'm looking to buy a Minolta SRT 303 from ebay, but the meter is broken. Is it possible to get it fixed?

  • @mivi0226 Anything with a broken meter, I would steer away from. Any fixing of the meter would be a complicated and time-consuming process, and might require trying to find parts. There's more than enough fully-functional SRTs out there at good prices. Make sure you search "Minolta SRT" on eBay. You'll find all kinds of options there.

  • i cant open mine for some reason:/ help?

  • @miloxCrazyNothing If it doesn't open up when you pull up the rewind knob all the way, then there's something wrong with it.

  • This was so helpful! I have a 102 and followed right along without confusion. Looking forward to more videos! Thanks.

  • so when looking through the viewfinder, if the line without the circle does not move, does that mean a battery replacement is in order?

  • @algooch Just check the battery by turning the switch on the bottom to "B.C." which stands for battery check. If your battery is good, the line without the circle should go down to the square on the right side (or at least very close to it) and stay there. If it doesn't move, then you need to reposition the battery (if you're using a 675 cell) or just get a new battery.

  • Hi,

I am 14 and i just found 4 cameras from the 50's and 60's in my basement. One of them was this camera the Minolta SRT 101, I was wondering do you have any advice for me on how to use it? I have taken DSLR lessons, with my Rebel t3i, could you maybe help me with the functions? They are really different from my Rebel. Thanks

  • good video i bought one for photo. class at my high school irs in perfect condition is $53 a good deal for one in perfect condition

  • Dude this was great! Thanks! Just bought one yesterday for a photography class in school and needed the insight!

  • @bigsumomusic Glad to help bro!

  • So the light meter reading is only good to set before the DOF preview?

  • @krazykorican That's right, you'll need to set all your settings how you want them before you engage the DOF preview. I'll explain it better in the follow-up video that I'll be making; subscribe if you want to see it.

  • Hey! thanks for the video, helped me out a lot! only problem im having is changing the aperture, it lock on both the lens and the camera that only lets me choose 1.7 and 2.8.

  • im on my second one :) first one got stolen, the one i have now is converted so i can use regular batteries not those hard to find original ones

  • I have the same camera, and I love it. However the film advance lever tends to jam while I'm shooting. It just outright refuses to turn and the shutter button gets stuck. I have no other choice but to remove the film. Is it because of mechanical failure or do I just suck at loading film properly?

  • @KenMaristMarikina If the camera works just fine when there's no film in it, then you're not loading the film right. But if that happens all the time, then it's probably a mechanical problem.

  • @master777999 Thanks. Now that you've mentioned it, the camera works fine if there's no film in it. I'll watch out next time I load my film.

  • @KenMaristMarikina No problem. That'll definitely do you good. I'll be making a video re-explaining some of the things in this video that I didn't think I explained quite right, and I'll show how to load the film as well. Subscribe if you'd like if you want to see it.

  • @master777999 Subscribed! Also, I just remembered that the jamming problem only happens with one particular brand of film: Solid Gold 200. I have no idea why, but my camera likes to jam with that film. Other films work fine. Either that or my film loading skill suddenly drops when I use that film. :P

  • @Kugerfang Thanks! And that's weird. Who knows what's going on haha

  • do you have a sample photo taken with that camera

  • @ehilado06 Yes I do. I'll probably upload a video of some sample pictures.

  • Great video! Just bought mine today off eBay.

  • @krazykorican Thanks. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

  • Hello, I'm having some troubles with the mirror. When i wind the roll to set up for the next shot, the mirror goes up, as if its taking a picture. This prevents me from using the viewfinder, but I can open the shutter and expose the film (most of the time). Do you know to what i can attribute this problem to? How easy is it to fix?

  • @lostdude93 You probably have some mechanical issue inside the mirror mechanism. I really can't help you there.

  • after watching this video i decided to get a SRT 201 off eBay. i cant wait to get it d(^-^o)

  • @kimstream07 Awesome purchase! You're gonna love it.

  • Thanks for the helpful video! I just bought one today at a flea market and was really excited to see such a comprehensive video up. One question though -- I was trying to play around, changing the "lines" (one with a circle and one without) to match up on each other, and I couldn't move the one without a circle. It was also at a higher placement than yours. Would you be able to help explain my situation? Thanks again!

  • @tinyaerialacrobat Glad to help! You're not supposed to move the line without the circle; only the one with it. The line without the circle only moves when you have more/less light. The higher the line without the circle is, the less light, and vise versa. It doesn't matter where the line without the circle is, you just have to match the line with the circle to it.

  • @tinyaerialacrobat Agh, I'm having the same problem as you! I dunno how to fix it... have you gotten an answer yet?

  • @SpottedTiger89 Sadly no :( I don't know if it may change when we put film in? But like... I am too scared to put film in if I'm supposed to fix my camera first!! I've tried aiming it at differently lighted areas, but the one without a circle stays up... don't know if a sensor is broken or something...

  • @tinyaerialacrobat I thought I had already responded to this... anyways, the only line you move with the settings on the camera is the one with the circle. The line without the circle will move by itself, depending on how much light there is, and you have to adjust your aperture and shutter speed to match the line with the circle to the line without the circle. That indicates a correct exposure.

  • I have a SRT-102, it's basically the same, there may be some differences but I don't know. My two questions that I have is how to load the film properly into the camera, and the last is how do I know if my light meter has died? It seems to be functioning but not the same as it used to.

  • @spurlockmedia the difference betwween 101 & 102 is you have a hot-shoe whereas the 101 has a cold shoe...meaning:you can just put on any flash that is compatible to your camera...the 101 requires a flash with a cable that goes into side near the lens...1:35 in video...good luck

  • I was thinking about buying this on ebay; now i'm sure. Thank you very much, you give very datailed information about this amazing camera. I'm really ecxited to get it!

  • @keixoun Glad to help! You made a great choice buying this camera. No doubt you'll love it.

All the basic Fuji and Kodak films you find in the stores take great pictures, but I suggest getting a roll of Kodak Ektar 100 online from eBay or B&H. That looks the best out of any film I've ever used.

  • @master777999 Oh, thank you very much for extra film advice, I'll get some for sure! regards

  • could you show how to change the battery. 'cause i know they dont sell the mercury ones anymoree. thankss!

  • @ittttsbettyyyyy Just unscrew the battery cover on the bottom, and pop a 675 size zinc-air hearing aid battery into the battery compartment (with the + side up and the - side down), and then screw the cover back on all the way. Turn your light meter switch to B.C. (battery check), and the straight line in the viewfinder should go down to the square and stay there. If the straight line stays at the top, then unscrew the battery cover and move the battery around until the light meter works.

  • @master777999 hey man, i put the battery in my camera but the straigth line stays at the top. I tried to move the battery around but nothing happens. Maybe the meter is broken? the one with the circle work fine, thanks

  • @keixoun You're meter might be broken. Keep trying.

  • @master777999 i managed to get it to work, just lift up a bit the metal thingy inside the battery hole. now i'm ready for some action!

  • Yours is from 1967. The dead give away are zero point screws on the case and speed knob instead of cross point.

  • I repair the SRT line. Great cameras, built well and most are still very servicable...Most of the older ones are in need of shutter adjustments though...thank God for modern print film and its tolerances.

  • @KarmaCollin You can say that again. If all we had was slide film, I think all the old cameras with mis-adjusted shutters would be almost useless haha

  • should the regular line overlap the line with the circle? so as to cut the circle on half? or should they just essentially be at the same angle and point in the same direction as each other?

  • @jonnithundahhhh The straight line is the amount of light, and the line with the circle is your exposure. You just want to bring the line with the circle as close as possible to the straight line in order to make a good exposure. With negative film, it really makes no difference if the two lines are a little bit off.

  • i love photography but have not a single clue about cameras. So i was really excited when i heard that the srt101 is a good camera. I found my srt101 while snooping around the basement (it belonged to my dad when he was a photographer). Thanks for the video! had i not seen this i would have prolly broken mine while fiddling around with it.

  • @jihaewisdom94 My pleasure!

  • does it autofocus? ._________.

  • Been seeing quite a few SRT-101 video's lately.

  • @LearnToFly1000 Film has been making a comeback, and I guess it looks like people are realizing that this is one of the best cameras to go with.

  • @master777999 Yeah I've been using my SRT-101 for about 2 years now. Loved it from the day I started using it. Unfortunatly the meter is broken which is no big deal really because it's not like they sell mercury cell batteries anymore XD. I know there's still Wein cell's and Zinc-air's but they're a pain to get a hold of.

  • @LearnToFly1000 Yeah it's a great camera. And that sucks :/ there's some repair shops that'll still fix those for you. And that's true with the Wein cells, but the zinc-air's are sold everywhere.

  • @master777999 Not near me >.< They sell them but just not the right size to fit the camera correctly without an adapter.

  • @LearnToFly1000 Even though they're smaller than the battery compartment, they actually work just fine without an adapter; that's just a gimmick to make money. All that matters is that the top and bottom of the battery touch the top and bottom of the battery compartment, and that is the case. :D

  • @master777999 Seriously??? Does the meter still work right at that voltage? I'm about to check this out..

  • @LearnToFly1000 Go ahead. Yup, the meter works great with the 675 zinc-air battery. I think it's only like .05 volts higher than the mercury battery anyway.

  • Hey, I was just wondering how exactly to change the battery with a hearing aid battery?

  • @nicolettecristina Just take off the battery cover by unscrewing it with your thumb, and pop a 675 size zinc-air battery into the battery compartment. The battery is smaller than the battery compartment, but that doesn't matter. Once it's in, turn the switch on the bottom of the camera to "B.C." and look through the viewfinder. The straight line should be on the triangle. If it isn't, take the battery cover back off and reposition the battery until it works.

  • My mom just gave me this camera today, and it was my grand fathers who I never got to meet. I recently just got a Sony DSLR a550, so have fallen in love with photography. Once I get use to the settings on my DSLR I'll be comfortable with use actual film on this camera. Which brings me to me question... Where can I buy some film for this, or what kind of film does it take?

  • @BrittanyyHagann That's a great idea to start out with the DSLR. This camera takes normal 35mm film, which you can still get in most stores. I recommend using Kodak film. I can guarantee that you'll be a thousand times happier with the photographs you get from this camera than the ones you get from your DSLR.

  • Thank you so much, this was all very helpful. We we're totally lost until we saw this vid. Thanks again. You're our hero. :)

  • @tylerchhatesyou Thank you! Glad to help.

  • i got this camera when i went to the flea market with my dad.

ive been wanting to use it but was unsure.

    since ive just used digital.

your video really helped me out.

im gonna buy film and try it out.

  • @peppercock Sweet!

  • Nice!, Whats that screaming at 11:05 : S

  • I have a Minolta SR-T 101 and Minolta SR-T 303b. Like them much...

    675 is 1.5v

    625 is 1.35v

But it is OK to use 675, because in few days (or week) it will be 1.4v in 675 battery

    Sorry for my english

    Greetings from Russia

  • @skaay Actually, my package of 675 batteries says 1.4v, so they should be acceptable to use. I've never gotten a bad exposure using them. Greetings!

  • NOT 675 size but its 625. i watched this video and you said it takes 675 cell, so i just bought 675 batteries and they dont fit, i quickly found out that the correct size is 625

  • @MikeFoiseyy I just checked the batteries I was using, and they were in fact the 675 cell. Sometimes you have to kinda move it to the side of the battery compartment for it to work, since the battery is smaller than the opening. But hey, if you want to use the 625 and it works for you, go for it.

  • @master777999 oh cool, i didnt realize that. i guess i'll check that method with my 675 battery

  • mother of god, this is beauty... thanks for share

  • @kodamarciano It is, isn't it! My pleasure.

  • @master777999 I have a Minolta X700 and Minolta srt 202, I like analog cameras and revealed in my house, greetings from Chile

  • @kodamarciano They're both great cameras. Greetings!

  • i just got into photography and purchased a canon rebel t2i and have always liked the look of these old slr's :) and today was a really good day for me! i came across one of these at work today, in perfect condition with the case and lens and instructions and a flash..well he flash is is broken, who ever used it before left the batteries in it. im glad i came across this camera and for free. now i have to learn how to use it.

  • @Nightshade1881 Nice! Can't any better deal than free. Hopefully this video'll show you everything you need to know. It'll be one of the best cameras you'll ever own.

  • @master777999 this video is great man! and my t2i is a bit jealous now haha, i just put in some fresh B&W roll of film that i found ,i kinda struggled a bit while putting it in, my first time using a film camera, so the normal shots on a roll of film is 36?? ive taken a few shots, the manual said to take a few shots to set it correctly..im not sure i understand

  • @Nightshade1881 Rolls of film come most commonly with either 24 or 36 frames. Basically, when you load it, put the leader on to the take-up spool, and advance the film to ensure everything is working. If your film starts to roll onto your take-up spool, then you're good. Close the back, and advance a frame. Press the shutter, and advance the film again. Press the shutter and advance your film one last time, and when you press the shutter after that, that'll be your first shot.

  • Thanks so much for this video, I am about to purchase one of these for my first photography class, we will be working with B&W photos. I'm so happy I ran across your video, hope it works out for me!

  • @keilahsheashea614 You'll have a great time with it. Glad to help!

  • Got an SRT 101 in '95. As my skills progressed, I thought it was beneath me 2 keep using it. So I bought "better" film & (eventually) digital Canon's, Nikon's, Mamiya's, and Hasselblad's. Those cameras r great. However, I've always come back 2 the old Minolta. My point is, this is the best camera I've ever owned. It's always in my bag w/ just 2 lenses (28 & 50), some filters, a spare battery, and plenty of Tri X. Great for street photography & darkroom rats. It will never let u down!

  • @GroffinTiffin I totally agree! That's a great story.

  • i was wondering where to put the batteries on it.

  • @xbuhcsm Ahh, I forgot to show that in the video. The large circle on the bottom of the camera is the battery cover. If you have an older camera like mine, the metal will be textured in a way that allows you to grip the cover and twist it off. If you have a newer camera, it might have a smooth battery cover with a slit in it. Just stick a coin (or pretty much anything flat that'll fit in there) in the slit, and twist the cover off. Then just pop the batteries in, and you're ready to go.

  • Thanks for making this video. I just bought this camera and am checking it over to make sure everything is in working condition. The only thing I have yet to confirm to be working is the meter. Does the top of the 675 battery touch the contact? Also, does it take a while before the battery passes enough charge to the camera (I heard that 675s are air activated)?

  • @Seraph0110 You're welcome! And no, the charge shouldn't take any time to reach the camera. If the meter is on and the batteries are good, and it still doesn't work, or doesn't move very much, either the meter's totally shot, or it needs to be re-calibrated. There are places that'll do that for you plus a whole load of other rejuvenating stuff to your camera for about 40 bucks.

  • Glad you posted this, there aren't many videos at all about this great camera. I just picked up one myself.

  • @HappyEisentrout Yeah, that's one of the main reasons I made this. It's such a beautiful camera. And sweet! I just got a 1978 Minolta XD11, which many people believe to be the best manual focus 35mm camera ever made. I'll make a tour video of that one pretty soon as well.

  • Sounds like someone was being murdered in the background around 7:26

  • @HappyEisentrout lol Don't worry, that's just my crazy 8 year brother and his friends.

  • thanks man!

  • I have a Minolta SRT201. The Film-Advanced Lever is stuck and won't cock all the way back. I think this started happening after I changed film. Do you have any idea how to fix the stuck lever? Thanks for any feedback.

  • @hogieMONSTER If it only happens while the film is in the camera, then you probably have the film loaded incorrectly, or it's jammed somehow. Take the film out and see if the problem still occurs.
