  • jeanna would it be possible to boil water using the joule thief? If yes pls advise me how.

  • Thank you! It helped me! =)

  • ok very nice - please post me a circuit diagram at bennjanse@gmail .com so i can post a replication !

  • I love your video's but is it possible to put maybe circuit diagrams in your vids?

    Thanks.

  • @Addepat I made a series of vids using a joule thief with secondary. They have the diagrams.

Basically this is a plain joule thief circuit with 2 exceptions.

1- the led is NOT across the transistor, and

2- there is a third winding around the toroid that does nothing more than use the pulsing that is magnetically in the toroid because of the switching action of the joule thief.

This third winding has the leds attached.

I later called it a joule thief as pulsed circuit. Better name.

  • @Addepat

    Hi

It is at the beginning of the one called Joule thief with secondary part 2

Maybe this address will be allowed

  • @jeannacav

Thanks for your answer and the explaining. :)

  • Wow, I just noticed your video today. I have more recently made a vid. about using a ferrite ring from a CFL bulb. I will mention your video in the notes..

  • SUPER Women :) !

  • Nice Idea that just works. I just think if you submerged the Leds in oil you would get a better effect because it distributes the light better. Even water works but you have to shield the wires on the led to prevent corrosion.

  • Well, a plastic bag is not as messy, unless it had garbage in it before you wrapped it!

    kidding aside...

Exactly...It just works and most people can do it.

  • Jeanna:

Yes, that is a much better shot of your light at the end, or at least longer. Excellent job here! Now everyone can make these lights with little or no cost to them. This is such a wonderful thing.

You should get an award for this.

    Bill

  • I do hope people will be inspired to try.

I understand you are wealthy today having just found 2 burned out cfls. ?

Now, you can make 2 "jeanna's lights" because you DO have the big toroids, and you will have all these great parts for led "world lights" too. A very wealthy man.

I am thinking the high voltage caps will be very useful in many places too.

  • jeanna, thank you so much. even though i live in a "first world country" i am usually pennyless, and buying toriods is just a dream....ive started to pull apart all the broken cfl's here, and there are some fab parts, especially in the full spectrum cfl's. it is an intention around here to provide people we know and meet, who live with no comercial power, a simple easily reporoduced lamp running on one aa, and possibly wraped in foil so the colapsong field can re-charge the aa....

  • Beautiful

This is my great hope. Thank you so much!

  • Way to go Jeanna. Five stars,Thank,s for sharing and caring. Tec

  • Thanks, tec
