  • Honor Bartok and his wonderful music! Play at the tempo he specifies: quarter note at 72. It's a children's song, not a dying soprano's aria. Andante, not largo!

  • @MNtervuren

Once it was indeed a children's song (somewhere in Hungary) when Bartók collected it, thanks for him now it's a perfect piece for piano - as such, free to be interpreted the way you like.

  • I'm learning this one, is there a reason to start left3-5 instead of 2-4? I don't wanna miss any tricks from the masters :)

  • thank you

  • Amazing what Bartók could do with a children's song. I remember singing it when I was a child..only it sounded differently. :-) Very nice interpretation. I think I'm gonna go through all of of your videos in the next few days. :-)

  • Your voicing is beautiful, and the "setting" on your electronic piano gives these children's pieces a lullaby quality; very appropriate. My daughters love to hear you play. I, too would love to hear your interpretation of the Chopin Ballades. Your voicing and phrasing set you apart as a pianist. God bless you and your talent.
