@SPenaYoung i think it was an attempt at a comic relief character that c3po was in the episodes II-VI. but in stead of comic relief he was just annoying. Some of the same elements were copied in both trilogies from a gun slinging heroine to an unlikely skywalker blowing up a large ship and saving the day. there are parallels but the second trilogy just lacks the same quality.
