  • We want to see samples of actual free programs shown on Roku... not some dude scrolling across the menu screen. There's nothing here to convince me to buy!

  • Does this work with any kind of Television?

  • @Re5man you need a HDMI-in port on the TV, apart from that you should be all set :)

  • @Re5man you need a hdmi port if you want to stream HD content but it should work with any tv all you need is a video and audio ports, you know the ones u can find on VCRs(Red,White,Yellow)

  • Now are there a monthly fee for different channels that are on Roku?

Thanks so much for your time.

  • @celtic5764 channels like revision3 are free, however netflix and Hulu are subscription-only :)

  • I don't know, it probably eats up bandwidth quotas, eg) Comcrap cable internet has 200Gb monthly limit for residential; therefore, the Roku is kinda useless too, streaming takes tons of bites. Secondly, not sure how good the HD quality via internet, if it is not up to 1080p.

  • Get a PC.

  • i think this is awesome

  • How do you watch your local tv stations and ESPN on this or can you? I'd love the thought of cancelling cable tv, but i'd hate not to have local channels or espn.

  • How to stream rhapsody

  • Almost every TV, LCD, and BlueRay players has these features built in. I guess unless you still have an old plasma or LCD, Roku can come in handy.

  • I love my roku.i saw someone on youtube with utube on there roku?

  • how much internet speed i need to run the roku streaming player smoothly?

  • Can my AV receiver upscale the 720p video to 1080p?

  • i've always been interested in roku but im a bit confused on the services they provide. does it come with any free services? i know you have to pay for netflix, but what about hulu plus and all the other channels it supports? does the device itself already come with channels on it or do you have to pay for each one? and if you do have to pay for each one, how is that any different from just having cable or direct tv?

  • @TheDsb03 if there's content out there in the world wide web that can be streamed free, then this device can do it all in one easy to use interface that connects right to your tv (hidef or standard). therefore, most of the channels are in fact, free. some premium channels have fees (e.g. netflix, hulu plus, mlb.tv, etc). i own two of them. i don't have cable. plenty of content for 16/month. $8, netflix - $8 hulu +. i also get mlb.tv; (since way before roku) & it's always been 79/season.

  • go to wwwdotwhatzonyourminddotcom

  • how these guys got hulu and google didnt is a punch in the eye...way to go roku.

  • I was getting a new 42" HDTV for the xbox. I was getting worried I wouldnt be able to afford HD programing but this box and hulu plus + netflix = cheap entertainment

  • I am purchasing my Roku now...very happy with what I see..Thanks for fht review.

  • I bought 2 of these for both living room and bedroom tv's and they come tomorrow. I just wanted to make sure that Hulu Plus actually worked cause I saw some posts on the Roku message boards that say it doesn't work. I was very glad to see that YouTube is also on here so thanks for this video.

  • Just bought my Roku XDS and cannot wait for it to come. Already have MLB.tv and Netflix, and the free month of HuluPlus will be a nice feature to try out. Looks like it is just what I have been looking for!
