I swear there's a remix of this on the Aunt Aubrie's Excursions Beyond The Ultraworld. Am I high or is there a similar sounding melody on those Comp's? It may also be some other same-sounding melody from Cydonia.
WHAT AN AMAZINGLY FUCKED UP PIECE OF AUDIO ...I LISTENED TO THIS ON ACID ON MY OWN MANY OF TIMES ...ROCKING TO THE MELODY AND LOSING MYSELF IN THE MUSIC ....THE ORB KICK ASS - AND ID LOVE TO SEE THEM TOUR THE UK
I remember this from college. I worked at the radio station and one guy there would have acid parties and bring out HUGE Peavey speakers and play all of the Orb albums he had, and we'd drop and lay on the grass next to the lake where he lived just tripping our balls off. Great memories.
There are now a whole lot of people who can't even understand what the world would be like today if these guys hadn't done what they did. I remember vividly the first time I heard the Orb and I haven't been the same since. Neither has my experience of other music.
this is a classic. i recall buying this on tape. I read a review of it in Select. So I go to the shop and ask - What is the Orb like? employee didn't know. I said experimental techno. He said "yeah". became the bible of my college years.
yeah, you don't have to take drugs to enjoy this song, I mean it's pretty buzzy as is... but there's just something about wandering through a forest fucked off your tits listening to the orb
the orb is magical. the orb is like nothing else. ahh so many memories and astral projected out of body time traveling living past lives in the future further and faster experiences. So mind bending that words only confuse and cannot possibly explain or define what can never really be defined. The unspoken word not foudn in any library or dictionary. this is the ORb. The Orb is...in a word....amazing! absolutely beautiful music. definitely try fsol, coil, orbital and others if you like tihs.
Somewhere along the way, I fell out of love with music - that new hairstyle, the kinda TV shows it started to watch that I just didn't get, I don't know what it was.
Then, recently, I bumped into music again and it looked just like the Orb I'd fallen in love with when we were both young. And now I'm smitten again. I really think this could be the real thing this time...

reading other comments me and my ex g/friend used to brew magic mushrooms and play uforb and ultraworld on repeat..one time we put the vynal uforb issue on and it got stuck, we didnt realise until we were comming down and it was still awesome..hallucigenics and the orb come as one most of the time
ive seen these 5 times glast cardiff but the best was in sheffield for the miners appeal with primal scream....it was like my body had left me and my head wanted to stay unbelievable..
The most beautiful intro. I want it to go on for hours. Big Chill 2009, Hexstatic threw this on with a video of some tripping puppets and samples to boot. And The Orb themselves played it the year before. The hairs on my neck are standing just hearing this tune. Awesome.
Wow, its exactly what i was thinking. Anyone who listens to the Orb should definately give Tangerine Dream a listen. Tangram and Cyclone are 2 off my most favourite albums. Nice one!
hello i made this track (with two other dudes) i dont agree - i think tangerine dream sucks. if you want to listen to electronic music (old) listen to tom dissevelt song of the second moon 1957 or some bernard parmigianni.
@goblinrogers It also might be from the album "Tested on Humans for Irritancy" by Victor Lewis-Smith, according to some sources, but I didn't really check it out. That seems more plausible though.

"Where or what did the intro come from and the general chatter that goes on through parts of the record? "
The intro is "The doctors" by Hudson and Landry.
The rest i don't know, you might be able to find the source on google if you type out exactly what's said in the sample, depends tho, sometimes samples are just way to obscure and even the artist can't remember (or possibly prefers not to say) what the source was.
