You don't need 400+bhp to hit 170+.

The Challenger SRT8 has the drag coefficient of a brick and that's why it needs that much power to hit 170. Here's a delimited(governor disabled) Volkswagen Passat W8 Sport with 270bhp hitting 174mph.

It's all about the aerodynamics. The Passat has a super slippery 0.27 coefficient of drag. The Challenger SRT8 has a bricklike 0.353 cod.

was that 170 on the GPS?  i saw 167 on the speedo. It seems my 6-spd has a little more Rpm before hitting the redline in 6th. Maybe the gearing is a little taller in the manual.
