@N1inSight Try convert to SR20VE and get 4-1 Extractors similar to the P12 SR20VE 20V Factory Extractors. Then you should unlock the N1 cams :) Just trying to help.
hi matey how did you manage did get the vvl into your n16 i have a 2002 sport+ and im keen on putting a sr20 eninge in but unsure how to go on with the engine mounts and if i can use my standard gearbox, would it be possible to simply weld in the mounts. lee
almeraownersclub look for more info. Gearbox should be sr16ve or P11 SR20de one. Transmission mount is P11GT, the other mount is N14 GTI, rear crossmember mount is probably P11GT also. Front mount remains stock.

Mate join a nissan forum. You'll get better answers. N15 GTI with N14 GTI use the same driver's side (RHD) mount. The trasmission mount should be P11 GT. Similar design as your current N16 one.
@swalesy100 Wrong engine choice buddy. SR16ve are far better than the SR20 DE. We have imported lots of JDM N15 Pulsar VZRs to Ireland and the GTi Almeras are no where near as guick or powerful.
@swalesy100 There are guys over here breaking a few VZRs and the engines aint that expencive. Thrust me VVL is the way to go. You wont be disapointed. Think about it . The SR16ve knocks out a good 176 BHP and the N1 is 198 BHP and all from a 1.6L N/A which means cheaper fuel costs & insurance. Plus they sound great when the VVL kicks in and they rape Vtecs & GTIs. ALL TYPES OF EURO GTIs that is. Why VZRs never cought on in the UK is baffling me..

It was built from 96 to 00 to compete with the other JDM hothatchs like the Civic EK9 Type R, Mitsubishi Mirage Colt Mivics & Toyota Corrolla Levin GT 20 Valves. These are the cars that became big on the moddified scene in Ireland and the Euro GTi was almost killed off over here when these JAP high reving hatchs came on the scene.

so bad it lacks torque (it´s just a 1.6 so it has great torque for an engine this small), i mean it´s almost impossible to reach top speed because of this, remarkable engine tho

Speed cut in jdm ecus is at 180Km/h or 112mph. If you want to comment about the max speed, it's something that doesn't concern me for the moment but we will look into on the next tuning session.

If you want to turbo a VE engine it's doable. Swapping the VE head on a DET is also doable. You can browse both sr20 forums for more information.

Every model has it's own part number combination. Regarding shocks best to choose Koni Sport (yellow).
